"A call for American Renewal"; a call to make the Republican Party Survive Trumpism

I think it could be an effective strategy. For those of you talking about loyalty to Trump and Trump's popularity being so strong it won't work note that the plan is to encourage candidates in competitive ridings. Competitive ridings wound be those that may have a Democrat now but are traditionally red or lean red. These seats will stay with the Dems as long as there is a Trumpian GOP candidate but may return to the GOP with a decent conservative moderate.

I have long said that the House will flip back to the GOP if they moderate Republicans win the local primaries over Trumpers. Of course, I am speaking only of competitive seats........not trump strongholds.

Which 'Trump’s White Nationalism establishment'?
But like many fake news narratives, repetition has helped cement this one into a reasonably plausible storyline for all but the most skeptical consumers of news. In fact, over the weekend, Fox News host Chris Wallace pressed White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney on why Trump has not given a speech “condemning … white supremacist bigotry.” Well, Chris, he has, and more than once. The most powerful version was from the White House following Charlottesville and the heartbreaking death of Heather Heyer. President Trump’s succinct and direct words:
“Racism is evil, and those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans.”

Sure doesn't sound like there is such a thing as 'Trump’s White Nationalism establishment'. Is this little more than a boogie man from the left?

Trump might utter a sentence or so condemning racism every once in a while when his feet are held to the fire.

But more often he can be found campaigning on the idea the blacks are coming after suburban neighborhoods, that white Minnesotans have superior genetic stock that is threatened by refugees of color, calling Mexicans rapists and criminals, opposing the teaching of racism in schools, defending Conferedate memorials, the list goes on.

White nationalists understand that he has to occasionally give anti-racism lip service and readily forgive him for it. They aren't fooled by his shallow attempts to placate moderates and neither should we.

It really is pathetic the way you trump dead enders continue to try and hide behind this.

Of course, on the day of, Trump was all for the white trash that stormed Charlottesville. Stephen Miller was in touch with his Proud Boys friends while it was going on.

It wasn’t until after one of the drove through a crowd and killed someone, that Trump, under intense criticism finally issued his rote condemnation. It was delivered in the dull flat monotone that trump used when he was reading words off a telepromptor (words that he was usually reading for the very first time).

Obama caused a lot of anger when...
His black ass won the Presidency. Sure, dog whistling is very effective for the GOP.

There is no way anyone can convince me it is not 100% about Trump the Terrorist.
Oh well then. Ignore the Tea Party movement prior to Trump even being in politics. Ignore that Carson, Fiorina and to some extent Cruz fared better than all the establishment GOP folks. Trump is a big FU to the GOP establishment which has grown more and more apart from the grassroots. But as the Tea Party energy pre-dated Trump, that has not gone away and won't after Trump until our country gets some fiscal responsibility and our elites stop destroying the middle class.

...and 16 million MORE people went to the polls to vote against Trump in 2020 than 2016 after seeing what he really was like as POTUS, so he lost ground (and the election). No question that Trump gets people to the polls, but when he gets more detractors than promoters, well, that is not a winning formula, meaning he isn't a good candidate.
Remains to be seen. The reason the audits are necessary is because basement Joe getting so many more votes than Obama in 2008 doesn't add up.

Yes, conservatives have been consistant defenders of the “corrupt DC business model”.

Der failed fuhrer saw it as an opportunity for personal plunder and supercharged it, stocking agencies with industry lobbyists, and his cabinet with crooks of all stripes. Trump’s goal was to have all of DC paying him tribute, like the small time gangsters he always admired.

It may be about trump the person, but it’s about the corrosive and destructive ideology of trumpism, which rode to its ultimate disgrace on Jan 6th.
Enjoy your delusion. But as with the major media that promotes the same bullshit narrative and has been caught empty handed many times (like with Russia collusion), it is all manufactured. Trump threatens the corrupt DC business model because he isn't playing their game.

It absolutely adds up. The difference is moderate Republicans had, in their view a Republican on the ticket they felt OK voting for. This time around the choice wasTrump and decent folk with solid values couldn't go there. Just look at the numbers of educated , suburban women went independent. Proof of the fact that many Republicans voted for Biden is how well the GOP did down ballot. Of course the Trump himself was a major get out the vote movement on both sides.

I guess that really depends on how badly the politically biased media miss-quote, take out of context, and down right fabricate, as we've seen they did in the Charleottesville and other cases.

Why doesn't it add up?

The audit by Cyber Ninjas is a joke. Based on what Logan presented at the briefing the findings won't hold up to review. Just take the 74K vote based on the V32 and V33 files. Total misrepresenting the data.

Logan also provided no evidence that the voting system was not an air gapped system. Did Logan provide a schematic of how the voting machines were configured? The county did.

Does the county have computers hooked up to the net. Of course. They just were not connected to the voting system.

The "audit" is flawed.

I wonder what their plan is if they do succeed? Give in to all the Progressive Democrat policies and programs, support CRT, and all the other Identity Politics that's tearing our nation apart? Much like those three "token" Republicans on the House 1/6 investigation committee?

Well having read their principles they are Republicans who support CRT, open borders and the transgendered in whatever they want.

Trump the Terrorist totally ruined the Republican Party five years ago, but it was already bad. In fact I never read the term "Tea Party" during his administration.

Cruz just had a lot of money and is from Texas, the Bush family's state. He is a traitor.

It's interesting that anyone would say that "good people" can attend a Nazi rally. To say that it is okay for any good person to be associated with such a thing is astounding.

I appreciate that you don't maintain that his more direct appeals to racism that I alluded to here aren't "taken out of context."

A group of Republicans is forming an organization to recruit and support candidates in the most competitive 2022 House and Senate races.

The group plans to raise funding to support or oppose candidates to defeat radical Republicans. Those who support former President Donald Trump in four to five Senate races and about twenty or more races in the H. or Rep. in next year’s midterm elections. They will also recruit candidates to run in GOP primaries or as independents against these radical Rinos.

One hundred and fifty former Republican governors, members of Congress and cabinet officials have signed the principles listed in the link

"Radical Republicans" - and who knows what that means- are no threat to America whatsoever. It's "Radical Democrats" who should have the entire country concerned.

of course it adds up. it's called math. we know from the election results, dozens upon dozens of recounts and audits, that biden kicked the shit out of trump lol.

Astounding was how dishonestly those comments were taken out of context.

Given the example above, I wouldn't put much trust in the 'news' (political propaganda) media's other reports of the same either.
It's really hard to call the bias media 'friends', because with 'friends' like these . . .

I love these threads cause all of the crypto-Stormfronters show up to cry about immigrants, Trump not being a white nationalist, and Trump being good for a GOP that lost the house, the Senate, and the WH within 2 years.

Next time, avoid tiki torches.

😀

Will these "Republicans" be Following and upholding the US Constitution , or will they be a rebranded GOP Status Quo that has been rejected ?
The Tea Party was the initial rebuking of the Corrupt GOP party, by the American People !
Trump was/is a Better option ! He's fighting the Corruption of the DEM-REP Monopoly in DC , and thus is hated by them !

It does not "remain to be seen"..... The fact is that Biden had 81 million votes; Trump 74 million. Biden's vote total was 16 million more than Clinton's in 2016. Those are the facts. Debate is about building a logical argument from facts.

Your comparing Biden's votes to Obama shows a remarkable level of ignorance about the last election. Don't you understand that the increase in votes was not about Biden, it was about Trump? He was the most disliked US president in recent times. You made the point that Trump was so popular that he drove out a record number of Republicans to the polls (10 million more than 2016). I countered with Trump had an even larger "unpopular" rating such that he drove out 16 million more people that had had enough. While the turnout was greater than expected, the outcome, almost to the state, was anticipated by pre-election polls and Trumps horrific approval rating, which generally was in the low 40s for his entire presidency. Anyone that believes the outcome of Trump losing to be a surprise was not paying attention.

This "remains to be seen" is fantasy. It has no place in a debate. You can believe in Santa Claus if you want, but you are not allowed to come here, to Debate Politics, and try to sell your fantasies as truth. Please stick to the facts.

In fact it is true, a fact, that audits are now being held and their results are not yet known. It is rumored, though perhaps not a fact, that further audits in some States will also be held.

It is also a fact that millions of Republicand nd Democrats do not believe the election was honest.

What is the point when the problem is the base? Take Trump for example, he never went against his base, just followed their lead.

Trump received near 5 million more votes than that idiot Obama ever got. I guess that makes Obama more hated than Trump.

My god.

ODS *still* ravaging.

o_O😮😲
