Republicans are now leaving the party in droves, saying that the GOP no longer represents Conservative values. That is not news to me. I have been saying this for 3 years, and until recently, have paid the price for my views.

Until I came to this board, I had been forced off of several boards for speaking my mind about it. Of course, over here, there is much more tolerance than some of the other troll pits on the internet. And today, many Republicans are changing their stances on political parties in general, with many of them bolting the Republican party altogether.

3 years ago, on a board called Liberty News Forum, I made a statement that the Republican party no longer served the interests of Conservatives. For that statement, I was personally attacked to an extent that I did not think possible. Those attacks continued every time I chose to speak my mind about what had happened to the Republican party. I was even threatened with physical violence, and got one death threat on one board for my views, which I reported to the police. I was literally driven off of several boards for my views, and on the last board I was on, there was an organized effort in their "Republican HQ" to gang-attack me, and organized "hits" on me were set up in threads in that HQ, which included not only mass personal attacks, but character assassinations, with one of the mods there himself personally involved. Due to one of the members of that "Republican HQ" being upset at what he saw, I was able to participate in one of the threats planning a hit on me, using his user ID which he let me use for that purpose.

When I got here, I was still personally attacked by some, but due to the tight ship which is run, these attacks and vendettas eventually stopped. This is why I am still here.

Bottom line - What Republicans hate more than anything else is one of their own who jumps ship. Since I jumped ship 3 years ago, I have been getting hit with everything but the kitchen sink, but after 3 years, the tide has turned. There are many more just like me now.

to those Republicans who are now bolting or considering leaving, I salute you. To those others who choose to stay with the ship, then I give you a gloating "I told you so". The future of America is not with the Democrats or the Republicans, whose interests are not the interests of this nation, but only those very narrow views which exist to serve their own selfish and petty interests. Americans are now waking up to the con job pulled on them by the 2 major parties, and I for one, am proud to have stayed strong for the last 3 years defending what have turned out to be the facts. I am vindicated.

To those GOP'ers who are now Libertarian, Constitutionalist, or Independent, a big thumbs up.

To those GOP'ers who still think that anyone leaving the party and speaking their mind about what it has become must be stomped on, a big FVCK YOU!! I have won - You have lost - Game over. Now go fvck yourselves. :)

Though I was never GOP, I applaud you. It is patriotic to be a pioneer in taking a stand against the status quo. You are exactly right about the two parties. People have been calling me a fence-sitter for ages. If we keep pointing out the damage these parties do to our country eventually the facts and history will prove us to be right. People love to tell me I wasted my vote on Nader. The truth is, if you vote for one of the two major parties, it is you, who have actually wasted your vote.

Victory is yours! Congratulations.

Danarhea, I agree with the vast majority of what you say. I would welcome you to help change the Dem party from within to what it could and should be - the party of the people.

Like you, I don't swallow everything my party says. Quite frankly I can't stand most of the DLC Democrats, but the movement that makes me excited for my party is the incredible grassroots effort currently underway in all 50 states. We The People of the Democratic party are way ahead of the Dems in Washington.

The sad part is that the GOP needs moral voices like yours to win back the respect of the country. America needs at least 2 good parties if not more. Philosophical differences? That's what makes are country great. How do you argue with a party that doesn't believe in Science?

I heard a rep from the CATO institute on Randi Rhodes show yesterday talking about the future of the GOP. I would say that there was 99% agreement on the Bush administration's egregious violations of the constitution between Randi, who's definitely left of center, and the Libertarian CATO institute.

Sorry, but I have to give a big fvck you to the Democrats too. They are the other half of America's problem.

I Miss Republicans
Remember Republicans? Sober men in suits, pipes, who'd nod thoughtfully over their latest tract on market-driven fiscal conservatism while grinding out the numbers on rocket science. Remember those serious-looking 1950's-1960's science guys in the movies -- Republican to a one.

They were the grown-ups. They were the realists. Sure they were a bummer, maaaaan, but on the way to La Revolution you need somebody to remember where you parked the car.

How did they become the party of fairy dust and make believe?

danarhea and All Others

Great post danarhea. I used to say the same thing as you. I eventually gave up and realized that people that get it will get it and those that don't get it, don't want to hear it.

Years ago I talked about it and Republicans/Conservatives would try to dissuade me of my opinions, not really seeing that they were leaning farther and farther left. The shift is so subtle that they are missing it.

I was shouted down by the hostility of the Liberals...that has always made me laugh. The peace loving Liberals love free speach as long as you say what they want to hear, otherwise....holy COW! Get back cause you are not gonna get in another word and all civility is gonna get tossed out the window as you face a raging hellstorm of hate.

:rofl That was a good post too... :rofl

I can't stand Randi Rhodes! Oh man, she is so freaking annoying. I listen a few times a weak, like I do with all that I can't stand so I can hear the BS from the Left. Just like Rush and his BS...gotta listen so that you know what the freak sheeple are following.

Politically, you and I are in the same camp. But stop your f.u.c.k.i.n.g whinning! How can anyone be driven off a website. I've been attacked by the best. And all I think coming away from their diatribes is, "Is that all you got!"

Stop being such a ***** and man-up!

Ronald Reagan?

My god....Ronald Reagan? Youre joking right?

The American people already gave a big fvck you to your Liberal values back in 1994. Now go shove a tree up your a$$ :)

I originally wrote this thread last june, and events since then have borne out what I stated in the original post.

Eat your fvcking hearts out, Neocons. Gloat, gloat :)

Unfortunately, in this great country of ours, filled with so many open minded thinkers, as evidenced by the sheer number of outspoken political forum members, ...............
VERY FEW HAVE THE BALLS TO VOTE FOR SOMEONE OUTSIDE OF THE BIG TWO

***There are no Republicans jumping ship. Its your imagination, dude. Most Republicans I know wouldn't have anything to do with a red diaper doper commie baby like yourself. So I'm surprised my Republican brethren would give a long haired greasy dope smokin pinko scum maggot like yourself...the time of day, let alone giving credence to your lies.

Both the Republican and Democratic parties disgust me.
But the anti-science, pro-belief, anti-civil rights folk disgust me the most.
And that's why I'm a Libertarian Democrat.

I belong to no party but am a Conservative..........I have voted for dems and republicans................Some dems I have voted for are JFK. Scoop Jackson and my present congressional rep Norm Dicks......I wish I could vote for a democratic president but when you put liberal whackos up like Gore and Kerry you give me very little choice..................Now you have 2 more flamming liberals in Hillary and Obama..............When you stack them up against a Romney or McCain its a no brainer.........................

When you say "no brainer", are you really saying "Vote republican, it's easier than thinking."?

No I say vote for the party that will protect this country and at the moment that is the Republican party......

Yeah, right after the turn us into the north american union, remove all immigration restrictions and merge our currencies.

Do you have your parties confused Taxedout?

read up on new world order boy george and his Security and Prosperity Partnership Of North America (SPP). Congressman Ron Paul would love to tell you about it.

No I don't have the parties confused.
They would like you to believe that.
