I have just visited the POLITICO website.

1. It claims that many Dems want that Texas congressman Beto O'Rourke to run for president in 2020.

I think that he would win easily because he is similar to how Senator Obama was.

a. He is young
b. He is slender.
c. He is handsome (notice how many females give him adoring looks).
d. He is very liberal.
e. He is an inspiring speaker.

2. Politico also says that polls show that most people do NOT want President Trump to be impeached (and convicted), but most people DO want someone else in the White House starting in 2021.

I think that it is highly probable that President Trump will join Presidents George Herbert Walker Bush and James Carter as a one-term president. But what a one term it was! He has nothing to be ashamed of. He has and will have accomplished a lot of good things for our country.

They forgot to mention Beto's father-in-law is a billionaire willing to fund part of his campaign. And he's got bad teeth due to drug abuse.

Be has ZERO "Real World" experience;

Has never made a living ANYWHERE BUT THE PUBLIC TEAT, much less EVER RAN A BUSINESS;

Took "poli-sci" instead of a HARD SCIENCE, "law" instead of MEDICINE/( or engineering/business management), or some other such lightweight crap in college, because he lacks the math skills for any SERIOUS academic undertaking;

Is a great snake oil saleman, whichm as leftists LOVE having smoke blown up their asses, is their immediate darling;

His completely unmasculine nature/mannerisms, calls his sexuality into question...his entire life.

Preaches socialist BULL****, while never liquidating his own wealth to "redistribute".

You have an issue with the man coming from a wealthy family?

As for the dental issue, that can be fixed. Trumps narcissistic personality can not.

He is also a white male (the root of all evil?) so perhaps Kamala Harris (ICE is perceived to be like the KKK?) would do better.

In the world of identity politics, the ablility to deflect any criticism and maintain victim status, by calling the critic a racist and/or misogynist, is not a trivial thing to toss aside.

I agree with all of your points and yes, Dems and liberals far and wide will get all melty inside for all of the reasons you mentioned, because they are emotionally driven and prefer feel-good ideological gobbledegook in lieu of dealing with hard facts, hard work and not depending on government for everything.

Kamala has all the warmth of a stone, but she's a black female, smart and has a track record in politics, so she is a better candidate for President than Beto. I just really shudder at the thought of someone who conflates our LEOs with the KKK ever getting into the Oval.

In all fairness, that goes for almost ALL American politicians on the state and national levels.

Here in California, our pols could not run a lemonade stand correctly.

So, of course, they go into "public service." For their whole lives.

And when they finally get voted out, many start think tanks in Washington, D.C.

Sadly, few public-spirited citizens are willing to be a Cincinnatus.

Kind of goes against the manifesto of Marxism doesn't it. Capitalism and wealthy bad.

When did he claim to be a Marxist ?

As for the wealthy family, I see nothing indicating he comes from the 1%' He seems to have struggled a bit in his youth, a minor brush with the law, a bout of mild depression. This is obviously where he gets his empathy from, a quality needed in a leader. Many ordinary people could relate to such experiences. He has not had life handed to him, unlike some. I would be willing to listen to his platform.

I agree that the Democrats need a fresh young face for 2020. Also most Americans don't want Trump impeached or removed. Although they don't want a second Trump term. As of this point in time anyway. I think it is his uncouth and unpresidential persona and behavior that has driven away independents from him. They once supported him and the GOP congress, not anymore.

Beto looks like an up and comer, being from a flyover state is also a plus in my opinion much like Obama was. But I'm not sure three terms as a congressman will be enough. Beto would be better suited as a VP nominee than a presidential one. But against Trump, he'd probably win if the mood in this country doesn't change over the next two years. The one I'm looking at at this early stage is Tammy Duckworth of Illinois. The House has never been a good stepping off point for the presidency. The senate has. Tammy with here spunkyness, tactful and classy spunkiness along with senate experience could be the one. She is also ex-military which would be another plus.

I'd vote for her over Trump, most likely not Beto, a Beto vs. Trump match up would probably result in another third party vote. I'll never vote for Trump, but whether or not I vote Democratic all depends on the candidate the democrats choose.

Too bad for you the Dems aren’t anywhere near Marxism and a rwnj wouldn’t know a Marxist if they came up and introduced themselves.

Barack.

He seems to be very popular in the LGBQ community in Texas. Speaks fluent Spanish, started his own business.

He married into money and tried to sweetheart deals with this FiL while on the city council in El Paso.

Wait. You didn't listen to his platform in this recent election?

No

I voted absentee in Mass. Cast my vote for Senator Warren with a smile on my face.

Now if Beto is interested in running for national office then I will READ his platform.

I am open to all, except the guy who rips off disabled Vets thru a fake University.

Having a POTUS candidate with 'historic' and 'unprecedented' (minority) status was no small part of Obama's appeal despite the OP leaving those attributes off their list of "Obama like" qualities. Any liberal is going to get the demorat vote - the key to winning the POTUS general election is getting a bigger share of the independent vote.

Duckworth was born in Thailand. I think she can't run for POTUS, correct?

Question for the Texans participating in this thread unless you're from around El Paso: Had you ever heard of Beto O'Rourke before he was astroturfed onto the national scene this past year?

Definitely. Trump has to do that or else he'll lose in 2020. Dems are rebuilding the blue wall that crumbled under Hillary's candidacy.
