UBI for everyone I guess... and then ... well... the end.

Good thing I was always able to employ myself in jobs an AI can't do and glad also of now being retired and glad also to have enjoyed a whiskey and the arms of a good woman instead of watching videos to make me paranoid about the future.

Last time I checked AI can't do much in the way of landscaping or house painting, my two main lifelong self-employed occupations.
Mind you I also ran a business and THAT is something AI could have done for me.

Noone claims it can do those... keyword being... today.

AI by 2027 is eliminating all the jobs (besides AI programmers apparently), but we still don't have ubiquitous flying cars despite that 100-year-old trope.

I enjoyed 14 years in my own business, gardening. I've never attended a single gardening course nor seminar, knew none of the Latin names of anything and hated the idea of self promotion and advertising. Nonetheless I was turning business away half way through the second year.

When you work with your hands actually on the job, whether it be furniture making, gardening or welding (all of which I have done) you get a feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment that no amount of sales closes and double digit margins can ever offer.

I loved being a reporter and shunned management for years. Sales in an office strangled me. Gardening paid less than half but I was "FREE" and had winters off if I wanted. In later years I would take on large remake projects in the winter where I would usually overspend. They were the happiest years, although being a reporter in the early days was the most exciting. I lost 10 lbs of sweat the first live stand up I did.

Ugh....I've got bad news for you. Those jobs are things it can do. But, you still need 20% humans to be there and prompt it and stuff.
