It wasn’t an insurrection. Some of the participants may have had delusions regarding what they were doing but none were even equipped to do any more than get themselves in deeper trouble than the guy next to them.

I'm not happy about ANYBODY that got injured during the riot. Riots, by their very nature, are dangerous and should be avoided. Whenever you get a crowd that's all fired up on emotion rational thought tends to take a back seat and people get hurt. Comparing it to the "kegger" analogy, it's generally one of those "hold muh beer" kind of things and they go wrong far more often than they go right. If your goal is to make a political statement then you're MUCH better off doing so without letting things get out of hand.

The federal government knew this was going to happen. Not only were no steps taken, but Trump, Giuliani, Flynn, and the gang used the key words to give them the OK to go ahead with it.

At pretty much every turn the majority of the crowd is mostly just standing there and then, after a few minutes, they start getting pushed from behind and some yahoo starts whooping. You had active agitators in the crowd that verbally and physically pushed an otherwise peaceful assembly to do stuff thel likely wouldn't have done on their own. It's a tactic we saw all summer long. Peaceful crowds showed up during the day and then the anarchists showed up and things got ugly.

Yeah, I head this on Levin. They didn't need to be there to hear Trump's speech. Anyone with a smart phone could have heard his speech and received the message before the speech ended. And Trump's comment in the weeks and months leading up to the coup attempt also contributed to what happened. And Trump wasn't the only inciting violence. Rudy and Trump Jr were also riling up the crowd with pro-violence messages.

This is pathetic. You guys just cannot accept Trump's culpability for anything.



This is true, and these people were also encouraged by Trump's lies about voter fraud in the weeks prior to Jan 6th.

It's beyond me why you guys won't accept Trump's culpability in what happened.

I never said there were not a fringe group of Trump supporters part of the riot. But they were not the only ones.

Meet John Sullivan, anarchist, BLM activist and founder of the Utah chapter of Insurgence USA which is used to plan protests that are known to become violent.
Sullivan is currently facing charges in Utah for inciting violence at a protest that resulted in a man dying.

It has already been proved that the Insurgence USA website on their calendar they had a planned protest on Jan.6th at the Capitol and were to meet up at the Washington monument at 11:00 AM. Sullivan was seen in many videos where there was violence and audio of him inciting it. When questioned by the FBI he claimed he was there just to observe. He went on CNN and FOX claiming the same thing. But videos have proved his claim to be a downright lie. He uploaded onto YouTube where he was calling for Trump to be dragged from the WH before the 2020 election.

At the rally in DC he was videoed wearing a Trump 2020 hat to fit in along with others with hats and shirts with Trump on them. Now the FBI is investigating how many people associated with this group were there. It wasn't just Sullivan.
