84% of Tea Party Supporters polled favored government action to revitalize manufacturing jobs in America. Of the 84%, 27% supported government doing whatever was necessary while the remaining 57% believed government should enact tariffs on foreign goods and provide incentives to American companies.

Furthermore, 74% of Tea Party Supporters approve of a National Manufacturing Strategy to ensure economic, tax, labor and trade policies work together to support manufacturing. (page 24)

Socialism anybody?

People are too busy taking cues from political fear mongering elites than thinking past labels and deciding for themselves what they want.

I don't like government spending.

But I like medicare, social security, the fire department, the police, roads, public schooling, the post office etc etc

1) Link doesn't work, but is this the poll you're linking to? http://www.americanmanufacturing.org/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/10pre607-aam-f2-short.pdf
2) A poll conducted by a manufacturing interest group concluded that people support manufacturing. There's a shocker.
3) I don't see where it says that 84% favor "government intervention" in the way you're referring to it. Most people will agree with the generic statement "The government should encourage more manufacturing here in the US." That's not the same as saying that they favor any particular government intervention into the manufacturing process.
