$7.35 for a dozen and a half eggs, at Walmart. Is this a part of trump lowering prices on day one? (1 Viewer)

The costs of things have gotten so outrageous we don't even address it any longer. What I want to know is why our government doesn't crack down on all kinds of producers? I'm starting to think that maybe this bird flu might be intentional, it sure does make gouging easier and somehow in all of the mess the largest egg producer in America is making record profits? Beef has become outrageous and let's not forget one of donald's favorites, bacon.

Not that corporate America ever gouges its cash cows. Somebody is benefiting from these outrageous prices and it isn't we the people.
Not at my WM.

Sucks to be you.

Just bought a dozen for less than half of that.
Safeway 2 blocks from my home.

$9.99 for 12 ordinary eggs. Someone is making a killing here. Don't even bother asking what a gallon of milk costs here. Needless to say, I don't shop here anymore. Used to. Even at Walmart, the prices in my area are higher than the previous price posting.

Well, Northern Virginia is as blue as CA. I suggest moving to a free state.

Sorry. I like it here. My home is paid for. I don't want to live in a backwards red state. My streets are paved, and trash is picked up. Crime is very low compared to many areas. A few years ago, Fairfax was listed as the second-best American city to live in.

While the grocery prices are a little higher at Walmart than certain other areas, they are still much lower than Safeway or Giant Food. Those stores are for the local millionaires.

Such “liberal” tolerance.

Guess what? Streets are paved and trash is picked up here too.

Fairfax rates a 10 out of 100 for crime. (100 is best).

Orlando suburbs rate a 57.

I’ll stay where it is safer.

Maybe for government workers. But go ahead and link us up.

Agreed.

Right. Couldn't have been Biden.

Trump is so evil he caused egg prices to explode months he even became president! Pretty neat trick.
You should take a course in economics. The major causes of inflation in the country were worldwide inflation, then Trumps' two failures. The first to handle Covid instead of telling us it would go away by summer and then his failure to fix the transportation/distribution problems. bringing about shortages which always cause increases in prices. The final cause is the corporations gouging us with higher prices and blaming it on inflation. Biden actually reduced inflation faster than any major industrialized nation in the world as well as giving Trump the world's best economy which in just three months Trump has brought down to we soon might have a recession. Like I said, take an economics course. Just so you know I do have a degree in economics and an MBA.

@bongsaway must shop at the same grocery store as Kathy Hochul. Her and her husband make over $1 million per a year and she is complaining that she can’t afford eggs for the annual NYS Governor’s Easter Egg Hunt.

Do you tire of making yourself sound foolish?

Eggs are cheap. Gas was $4.59. That's the problem I have.
My eggs were 7.34 for 18 on April 16th from Walmart. I have purchase history I can look up. I felt stupid not getting them a few days earlier because they were a bit cheaper just a few days before. The only reason I got them was because we want deviled eggs for Easter.

Says the poster who says he can ID illegals by skin color and occupation.
In your head again and again and again. You know more than I do and yet you don't live here, amazing. Should I try to tell you about your hometown?

Who would have ever thought that eggs would become a delicacy?

Oh look. A picture with no link.
The graph is accurate, but those are wholesale prices. They have not been coming down appreciably at the retail level. Unless you have some wholesale connections, I'm afraid it's retail for you (and me).

The wholesale prices drop but the retail prices go up. I think there's a word for that.

I am looking at $6.62 at the Walmart web site, and yes, that is a good price for a dozen and a half eggs. Are you just looking for the more expensive choices?
