The blue state of New Jersey may not be blue much longer. Its predicted to be a tight race. The MAGA movement does have a slight edge in the state.

When it comes to Independents, especially those who reject MAGA, we see a significant level of support for the Republican candidate.

We are seeing another example where the Democrats have failed to deliver a message. No clear leader or agenda.

============================================

"Nearly half of New Jersey voters say they oppose President Donald Trump’s President Donald Trump’s MAGA movement, but the Republican running for governor seems to have an edge with undecided independent voters, and more engagement from partisan voters, a new poll shows.

Among independent voters who support the “Make America Great Again” movement, 73% said they would vote for Republican Jack Ciattarelli for governor, according to the Rutgers-Eagleton poll.

Among the independents who oppose MAGA, 67% said they would vote for Democratic nominee Mikie Sherrill.

An estimated 25% of independents said they were unsure who they would vote for in the governor’s race to succeed outgoing Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy."

Jack failed in his 2021 bid against an INCREDIBLY UNPOPULAR Murphy.

His chances haven’t improved since.

And NJ goes back and forth in regards to which party wins the Governors mansion. Has nothing to do with MAGA, half the state has always been red. South of Burlington county, the state tends to go purple and then deeper and deeper red.

The blue sections in North Jersey have the population advantage. NJ will remain blue for federal POTUS elections for the foreseeable future because of this.

Polling currently has Sherrill up between 8-10 points and it is only Sept.

Things have changed since 2021

A quick search shows in 21 Ciattarelli received 56% of the Independent vote. That has increased to 67% for now. A significant increase.

One can argue it is the result of the continued decline of the Democrat party. A sinking ship with no Captain or rudder.

Jack scared the shit out of the Democratic machine. Murphy won by the skin of his teeth. Sherrill will win because she’s not Murphy who was a scumbag backed by a powerful clique in north Jersey, she’s an articulate woman, she’d never let any of her inner circle get away with what Murphy’s did.

I voted Jack in 2021.

I can’t stand Murphy. And Murphy 2021 was INCREDIBLY unpopular because of all his EOs and lingering Covid closures, etc that applied across the entire state.

There are LOTS of people that, like me, voted against Murphy and FOR Jack back when he distanced himself from MAGAs.

I will vote Sherrill in 2025.

Jack went full MAGA post his election loss in 2021.

I suspect he will fare worse in 2025 than he did in 2021.

If we still lived in NJ we’d vote for Sherrill too. We’re both independents.

No.

The New Jersey governor election in November will be a blowout, Sherrill +10 or more.

55-43-2 most likely.

Nowhere near close.

Virginia will probably be an even bigger wipeout for Republicans.

Spanberger should win by 57-43 or something.

The incumbent president party always gets punished in off-year elections for governor.

Yep. No more Covid EOs that pissed off millions of people here.

Life went back to normal and now people are grateful to be in a democratic blue state that’s insulating them from some of the impacts of the federal government.

And means absolutely nothing regarding who will win this election.

Lots of people changed voter registration to “unaffiliated” and “independent” to show displeasure with Murphy - he’s incredibly unpopular and has been for years.

He’s consistently hated - across both parties.

Jack’s best shot was 2021. He lost. His odds aren’t better the 2nd time around. He’s not running against an unpopular candidate like he was when he ran against Murphy.

Or you just don’t have a clue about NJ

South Jersey hates getting screwed by North Jersey politicians. Sherrill isn’t a standard “North Jersey” politician like Murphy is.

She will likely win this easily.

Someone seems eager to find some positive MAGA news.
Actually LB, this isn't MAGA news other than the 67% of independents who plan to vote Republican oppose MAGA.

NJ’s in such a financial mess I wouldn’t even know where or how to begin responding. Next to California and New York it’s the most business unfriendly state.
