Yeah horrific….

Soooo 58K out of 15 MILLION registered voters in Texas MAY have not been eligible to vote and did.... rend garment and throw ashes!!!!!!

I guess Republican't only tolerate voter fraud when it benefits them- like in North Carolina.... :doh

But let's review the track record of Republican'ts and voter rolls- far too often the headlines ends up being more a case of administrative bungling than any true fraud. How many times have the Republican'ts purged the voter roles or attempted to deny a voter the right to vote only for it to have been in error????

Let's wait and see how many actual cases of fraud occurred, then compare that to North Carolina before opining who embraces voter fraud.... :peace

For the record - "non-citizen" does NOT mean illegal!

With that said....Perhaps it's time TX got its act together and STOP sending out voter registration cards and jury duty notices to ANY person with a drivers license/SSN. You are not required to be a citizen to get a DL in this state and unfortunately this incompetent segment of our government provides the list of people that should be sent voter registration cards or jury summons. When I 1st came here and got my SSN and drivers license within in a month I was sent my 1st jury duty summons....I was only a resident not a citizen at the time! Thanks goodness I understood this was a mistake and not something I was authorized to do unless I was a citizen but I can also see how someone may not understand the process to make them eligible to vote or required to appear for jury duty.

From your link.

Of those 95,000, 58,000 individuals cast a ballot in one or more elections from 1996 to 2018.

That is a 22 year time period.

Of course, we understand why you and most other liberals will try to muddy the waters when you stand to gain a good majority of those potential 11 million illegal voters.

Yeah we know liberals could care less about 58,000 illegals voting in just one state when those votes go to them.

Ahh... so now you know why Republicans have made voter suppression their goal for the last 10 years or so. I'm glad now you know why voter suppression laws have been struck down as unconstitutional in many states as they targeted legal Democratic votes. Thank you for being honest.

California's policies are worse in that regard so....

Also from the link
Under Texas law, non-citizens may obtain driver’s licenses by providing proof that they’re in the state lawfully, but state law does not require verification of voters’ statements that they are citizens.

Lol ! The1996 Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act, which made it a federal crime for non-citizens to vote in a US election, was signed by Clinton

Democrats want as many illegal alien's voting in US elections because that's the only way they can hold onto and or gain power.

Thank God Texas is cracking down on illegals that vote, because everyone of their votes wipes out the vote of a US citizen.

Doesn't help to understand it, it helps to demonstrate it. We're waaaaay past the point of wondering.

You are correct hundreds of investigations have proven 100% that voter fraud happens so rarely that is has zero effect elections.

And yet the right still clings to anything and everything to suppress voters rights.

Why, because they are the minority...

The side channel to voter fraud is where they can also invoke their racism with the claim that it's brown people doing it!

Yeah. 58000 / 22 = 2636.

So even if every single one of those people were not eligible to vote but did, that's only 2600 people in any given year. Extremely unlikely this had any effect on any election whatsoever. This is dozens of times less influential than Russian / Trump collusion in 2016.

Perhaps this will help us better understand why Pelosi, Schumer and many Democrats are reluctant to build a Wall.

It's also possible that in 22 years, a 100,000 legal residents in a state of nearly 30,000,000 people accidentally registered to vote. And, many of those actually are allowed to vote in some local elections.

And you can shrink that number even more...
