In this article, Mr. Blake draws the above 5 conclusions from a CBS News/YouGov poll.

The poll shows that Republicans still believe the 2020 election was stolen and furthermore they want their candidates to openly state that. 75% of Republicans say Trump should run again because he won in 2020.

Just 15% of 2024 GOP voters want a candidate that criticizes the people who stormed the capital on January 6.

32% of Republican voters want a candidate who will investigate and punish Democrats.

Only 7% of Republicans want a candidate who criticizes Trump.

As with every single one of these polls, they really shouldn't be polling Republicans OR Democrats, they should poll strictly independents and centrists.

That is the block you need to win, the rest aren't changing their votes.

I can arrest this is true and have been saying as much for years thanks to my unique and exalted position within the MAGAsphere.

For me, Ignorance is Virtue sums it up succinctly. We actually are deplorable and take pride in being so.

The last 15 years of Republican politics have been turning off voters, being warned by party insiders/polls that they need to eventually change their ways, and doubling down on trolling, conspiracies, and hate because they have created a beast that demands it. The beast is close to consuming them, if it hasn't already.
 
They don't see the beast. Their bubble doesn't allow it.
 
Deep sigh. I'm beginning to think there is no longer a faction of the republican party that could be considered normal or at least somewhat reasonable.

This is more proof that the republicans cannot win in 2024.

The reasonable or normal Republicans are the GOP silent minority. If they speak up against Trump or the right-wing culture wars and idiocy they are attacked. If they are a politician they get primaried by an extreme candidate.
