Here are five facts about abortion I think that every pro-choicer needs to know about the founder of their movement.

1. Margaret Sanger, who started Planned Parenthood, called for the elimination of blacks and Jews, and believed that abortion and eugenics could be a vehicle for such.

2. Margaret Sanger would have admired Hitler. One of Adolf Hitler's first acts was to legalize abortion. He is also known for his forced abortions.

3. Margaret Sanger also believed that society should be a world where all white people go around and have sex with as many people as they want without ever getting pregnant.

4. Margaret Sanger was a near communistic socialist. She wanted a world with no freedom and no private property.

5. Margaret Sanger would probably be shunned as a neo-nazi for her extreme views on race and eugenics today, and she also believed that love was not real.

There's not a single fact there about abortion. You have given this thread an invalid name.

Margaret Sanger does not = abortion

What a lame-*** exam[ple of pro-life dishonesty, climing that somehow Ms. Sanger's background constitutes facts about abortions themselves.

It is anothert stunning example of how incredibly difficult it is for pro-lifers to be honest.

I don't see a single fact here, only ad homenin attacks against Margaret Sanger.

I am not concerned about Margaret Sanger at all.

What I am concerned about is this fallacy on the planned parenthood website:

"Can an embryo or fetus feel pain?

We know for sure that the embryo or fetus cannot perceive pain in the nearly 99 percent of all abortions that occur before the 20th week of pregnancy. It is even possible that a fetus is unable to perceive pain at any time during pregnancy. "

And that part indeed is unlikely; I'll write them and ask for it to be fixed. But the remark about the 99% is an understatement. It is more like 99.99% because the ability to feel pain doesn't arrive till more than 1.5 months later. And those really latre 3rd trimester abortions generally are for major fetal problems or the woman's health.

Now, given your concern about inaccuracies on websites, I am very sure that you are gravely concerned over the many pro-life sites who insist that abortion can lead to breast cancer, right? because that certainly has been PROVEN a flat-out lie.

And you are also concerned about the many pro-life sites who lie so incredibly much as to claim the ability to feel pain before 20 weeks, some even at 8 weeks, right?

And you most certainly are also concerned about the ones who are so incredibly dishonest as to claim that brainwaves are present before the 26th week of pregnancy, right?

Good, I am glad you are not a hypocrite.

Good, I already did too so hopefully it will be fixed.

Yes but there are so many prolife sights....and truthfully I avoid them all. I'm not keen on the dirty pictures. I just think Planned Parenthood operates in many ways like a medical clinic so I expect their website to be held to a higher standard.

However if you know of a medical facility that is promoting totally bogus prolife propaganda on their website please point it out and if I agree with you I'll be more than happy to drop them a note.

And you are also concerned about the many pro-life sites who lie so incredibly much as to claim the ability to feel pain before 20 weeks, some even at 8 weeks, right?

Well I'd agree that the 8 wks seems highly unlikely. However once you get up to 20wks things start to get iffy. I'm not sure the medical community has reached a real conclusive agreement on the fetal pain issue. I know you disagree and I respect that. But yes the 8wks seems highly unlikely.

Here are some facts about the largest abortion provider in the world.......
the organization Sanger founded Planned Parenthood.

http://www.rapidnet.com/~jbeard/bdm/Psychology/planp.htm

A pamphlet published by the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) in 1963 contained the following statement: "An abortion kills the life of the baby after it has begun. It is dangerous to your life and health. It may make you sterile so that when you want a child you cannot have it."

All I see are pro-life websites that spread lies. Perhaps you have some scientific publication to support your claims?
FYI, 1963 is a bit obsolete.

Obsolete?……Then the day when abortion became legal……1973……….You would agree that it was so long ago….we should do a revote? :rofl
We have more medical information today..............YES LETS VOTE AGAIN.

Cute picture of Sanger isn’t it? She founded Planned Parenthood.

"Sanger advocated abortion as a means of eugenics, economics and sexual liberation. Of course after eugenics fell into disfavor following the holocaust her organization went underground. Guess what it surfaced as? PLANNED PARENTHOOD FEDERATION."

(Elasah Drogin, Margaret Sanger: Father of Modern Society, (CUL Publications, 1989), 11-13.)

Sanger tied the abortion agenda to the legitimate issues of womans rights.

“In fact, she was the guest speaker at a Ku Klux Klan rally in Silverlake, N. J. in 1926. (1) Not only did she not disassociate herself from these racist views, her own writings leave little doubt as to her sympathies. In implementing a plan called the "Negro Project," that was designed to sterilize Blacks and reduce the number of Black children being born in the south, Sanger wrote:
"[We propose to] hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. And we do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members."(2)
Sanger also viewed welfare as a detriment to society because it increased the number of poor blacks and foreigners. "Organized charity (modern welfare) is the symptom of a malignant social disease, increasing numbers of defectives, delinquents, and dependents. My criticism, therefore, is not directed at the 'failure' of philanthropy, but rather at its success."[3] The urban poor, and their increasing numbers, she called, "an ever widening margin of biological waste."[4] Welfare, she believed, encouraged the breeding of the poor, or "human waste," as she called them. She feared that welfare would encourage the urban poor by having them give birth to those "stocks that are the most detrimental to the future of the race"[5] Therefore, she believed that the government should actively encourage the sterilization of those who are unfit to propagate the race, using as her motto: "More [children] from the fit, less from the unfit."[6]
No modern day liberal would dare question the need for some form of government aid to the poor. But Margaret Sanger wanted more for the privileged and less for the poor. How did someone who was so obviously biased and lacking in compassion become the heroine of todays liberals? It is a strange reversal of political direction. It is as if the Democratic Party suddenly turned around and supported David Duke for Supreme Court Justice.
Margaret Sanger also continued to advocate for her racial prejudices in her magazine, Birth Control Review. In six successive issues of that magazine, she advocated limiting the racial quotas of immigration of "Slavs, Hebrews, and Latins,"[7] because of their lower intelligence! Although Ms. Sanger was the editor of the magazine, she shared its pages with the racist co-founders of the American Birth Control League. Board member Lothrup Stoddard wrote the racist book The Rising Tide of Color Against White World-Supremacy [8], which was reviewed favorably in Birth Control Review.[9] Co-founder and board member, C. C. Little, was president of the Third Race Betterment Conference, and he advocated preserving the purity of "Yankee stock" through limiting the births of non-Whites.[10]
Margaret Sanger was also strongly anti-Semitic. She started a similar birth control organization with a man named Henry Pratt Fairchild, who wrote The Melting Pot Mistake, in which he accused "the Jews" of diluting the true American stock.[11] In his book, Race and Nationality, (1947), Fairchild blamed anti-Semitism and the holocaust in part on "the Jews."[12].
Finally, Margaret Sanger and her organization began to be primary sponsors of abortion rights during her lifetime. But because she had associated herself with Adolph Hitler, praising him for his racial politics of eugenics, she changed the name of American Birth Control League to Planned Parenthood during WWII in order to disguise her racist past.[13] Today, her organization, Planned Parenthood, is still in the forefront of advocating abortion as a means of eliminating the unwanted and "unfit." Not only does the organization perform thousands abortions each year, it also receives 100's of millions of tax dollars each year through Federal and State Governments.[14] And rather than being in the forefront of a woman's right to choose, International Planned Parenthood is a primary advocate for the Chinese Government's policy of forcing women to have abortions against their will, and it also advocates for the sterilization of Third World non-Whites across the globe.[15] It seems that PP is "pro-choice" when trying to impress the U.S. media, but anti-choice in the actual implementation of its world-wide agenda.
But has Planned Parenthood changed? It is significant to note that Planned Parenthood has never distanced itself from the vision and ideology of its founder. Successive presidents of the organization have praised her work, including Faye Wattleton, who said, "As we celebrate the 100th birthday of Margaret Sanger, our courageous leader, we should be very proud of what we are and what our mission is. It is a very grand mission; abortion is only the tip of the iceberg."[16]
One can only wonder how abortion rights came to be adopted by liberals in the Democratic Party, or any other party. It is difficult to image how it came to be identified with other liberal causes. Through a slick media campaign and effective sloganeering, Planned Parenthood painted abortion as a compassionate and caring alternative to childbirth. Their motivation however may be altogether different. It seems that abortion still today, rather than being seen as a way of helping the poor and minorities, is considered the easiest solution for our economic problems. Don't help the poor, just eliminate them.

Perhaps the entire constitution should be re-written then? That was nearly 200 year ago.
I'm pointing to the pamphlet that planned parenthood had since long ago abandoned using. Thus very obsolete.
But hey, hate to burst your bubble, but abortion is very much legal.

Uh, normally I don't bother with you at all, but now I see what's happening here. You believe everything you see unchallenged!!
Did you even bother to notice this, above the picture you linked? Margaret Sanger Blogspot this year launched our 1st Annual Margaret Sanger at the Ku Klux Klan Rally Art Contest.
Did you bother to notice that 1963 was 43 years ago and that pamphlet has as bearing on anything as a 1963 Yankees program? Less, actually-the program is probably worth money.....

And the "facts" aren't even accurate, but made up to support the pro-life cause. Hitler and the Nazis did not legalize abortions, quite the contrary. It was outlawed and even carried the death penalty. It was the duty of Aryan to have as many children as possible to promote the master race.

That didn't keep them from practicing it on the "undesirable" elements of society, however.

Yes, P&G bought them out a few years back(as they tend to do with regular frequency). The original company, out of Australia (supposedly) was Redmond and the line of products was called 'Aussie' here.
Proctor and Gamble is one of the biggest and most diverse conglomerates in this country. They are the acquisition kings, buying up name brands that have been around decades.
Along with the Kellogg's legacy of the past, the stories of heirs and founders and their original idealology concerning the betterment of 'the race' through eugenics and related archaic practices makes this whole Sanger bashing laughable.
Did you know that one of the treatments at the original Kellogg's sanitarium (of course, it's called an 'institute' now), was to bring women to the resident doctors, where they were massaged into orgasm in the belief that doing so would release their perceived mental disorders?

Everyone of them are lies about Sanger? :rofl
Are you saying that Sanger never met with the KKK? :rofl

http://www.all.org/stopp/rr0302.htm

The FActs speak for themselves.

STOPP found this article recently republished in a new book entitled, "The Selected Papers of Margaret Sanger," (University of Illinois Press, 2003). Esther Katz who is the director and editor of the Margaret Sanger Papers Project and is an adjunct associate professor of history at New York University edited the book. STOPP also contacted Brian Clowes of Human Life International, which has a set of Sanger's Birth Control Review. He graciously made a copy of this article and sent it to STOPP so we could verify the accuracy of the reprint in Katz's book on pages 384-387.

Katz notes on page 387 that Margaret Sanger "often used the analogy of society as a garden in which the strong and fecund weeds (the 'feeble-minded' or 'unfit') are ignored, frequently quoting Luther Burbank, a plant expert and eugenicist." As back-up for this Katz cites, "Is Race Suicide Probable?' Colliers, August 15, 1925 and "A Better Race through Birth Control," Thinker, November 1923.

Indeed, in Sanger's own book, Woman and the New Race, (Eugenics Publishing Company, 1923) Sanger summed up the relationship between eugenics and birth control on page 229 saying:

Birth control itself, often denounced as a violation of natural law, is nothing more or less than the facilitation of the process of weeding out the unfit, of preventing the birth of defectives or of those who will become defectives.
Rather than seeing the image and likeness of God in every human being, Planned Parenthood's founder viewed some people as human weeds. Is it any wonder that since 1973 Planned Parenthood has treated over 3 million innocent unborn babies as weeds by uprooting them from their mother's wombs and killing them via abortion?

Sanger's account of her talk to the Ku Klux Klan

Given Margaret Sanger's preoccupation with race (see previous article), it should come as no surprise to anyone that Sanger would accept an invitation to give a speech to an organization that also has a preoccupation with race - the Ku Klux Klan. Not only did Sanger accept the invitation, but the excerpt below from her own 1938 autobiography indicates the she got along quite well with members of a New Jersey branch of the Ku Klux Klan, eventually getting a "dozen invitations to speak to similar groups."

Perhaps this is because the KKK's ideas and Margaret Sanger's ideas concerning race are so similar. No doubt the KKK must have been happy with Sanger's "Negro Project" which was designed to cut down on the number of black babies being born. In a December 10, 1939 letter, Margaret Sanger wrote to Dr. Clarence Gamble about her "Negro Project," saying, "We do not want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population and the minister is the man who can straighten that idea out if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members." (See Blessed Are The Barren The Social Policy of Planned Parenthood by Robert Marshall and Charles Donovan, Ignatius Press, 1991, pages 17-18.)

Are you denying she met with the KKK?

Here is Sanger's account of her trip to talk to the Ku Klux Klan from pages 366-367 of Margaret Sanger An Autobiography (1971 reprint by Dover Publications, Inc. of the 1938 original published by W.W. Norton & Company).

"All the world over, in Penang and Skagway, in El Paso and Helsingfors, I have found women's psychology in the matter of childbearing essentially the same, no matter what the class, religion, or economic status. Always to me any aroused group was a good group, and therefore I accepted an invitation to talk to the women's branch of the Ku Klux Klan at Silver Lake, New Jersey, one of the weirdest experiences I had in lecturing.
My letter of instruction told me what train to take, to walk from the station two blocks straight ahead, then two to the left. I would see a sedan parked in front of a restaurant. If I wished I could have ten minutes for a cup of coffee or bite to eat, because no supper would be served later.

I obeyed orders implicitly, walked the blocks, saw the car, found the restaurant, went in and ordered some cocoa, stayed my allotted ten minutes, then approached the car hesitatingly and spoke to the driver. I received no reply. She might have been totally deaf as far as I was 1 concerned. Mustering up my courage, I climbed in and settled back. Without a turn of the head, a smile, or a word to let me know I was right, she stepped on the self-starter. For fifteen minutes we wound around the streets. It must have been towards six in the afternoon. We took this lonely lane and that through the woods, and an hour later pulled up in a vacant space near a body of water beside a large, unpainted, barnish building.

My driver got out, talked with several other women, then said to me severely, "Wait here. We will come for you." She disappeared. More cars buzzed up the dusty road into the parking place. Occasionally men dropped wives who walked hurriedly and silently within. This went on mystically until night closed down and I was alone in the dark. A few gleams came through chinks in the window curtains. Even though it was May, I grew chillier and chillier.

After three hours I was summoned at last and entered a bright corridor filled with wraps. As someone came out of the hall I saw through the door dim figures parading with banners and illuminated crosses. I waited another twenty minutes. It was warmer and I did not mind so much. Eventually the lights were switched on, the audience seated itself, and I was escorted to the platform, was introduced, and began to speak.

Never before had I looked into a sea of faces like these. I was sure that if I uttered one word, such as abortion, outside the usual vocabulary of these women they would go off into hysteria. And so my address that night had to be in the most elementary terms, as though I were trying to make children understand.

In the end, through simple illustrations I believed I had accomplished my purpose. A dozen invitations to speak to similar groups were proffered. The conversation went on and on, and when we were finally through it was too late to return to New York. Under a curfew law everything in Silver Lake shut at nine o'clock. I could not even send a telegram to let my family know whether I had been thrown in the river or was being held incommunicado. It was nearly one before I reached Trenton, and I spent the night in a hotel."

You think its ok to be a ...pro-Nazi, racist/eugenicist bigot if you cover your steps by advocating birth control and abortion on the side..to really cover up your real agenda?

Here ya go............go to this website.. Go to Propoganda 101 "Confessions of Bernard Nathanson. click on the arrow and watch them start to perform an abortion.

Did you know that one of the treatments at the original Kellogg's sanitarium (of course, it's called an 'institute' now), was to bring women to the resident doctors, where they were massaged into orgasm in the belief that doing so would release their perceived mental disorders?

That beats lithium any day!

Abortion fact....

Those who are pro-choice about abortion, are pro-death period.
They ignore the real facts of abortion and what the experts say.

At a congressional hearing in 1981 the scientific community not only from our country but from around the world, testified about the beginning of an individual life. EXPERTS IN THIER FIELDS

FACT #1

Dr. Micheline M. Mathhews-Roth said, "In biology and in medicine, it is an accepted fact that the life of any individual organism reproducing by sexual reproduction begins at conception, or fertilization."

FACT #2

Jerome LeJeune said, "To accept the fact that after fertilization has taken place a new human has come into being is no longer a matter of taste and opinion. The human nature of the human being from conception to old age is not a metaphysical contention, it is plain experimental evidence."

FACT#3

Dr. Hymie Gordon said, "But how can we say, unequivocally, that the question of when life begins is no longer a question for theological or philosophical dispute. It is an established scientific fact. Theologians and philosophers may go on to debate the meaning of life or the purpose of life, but it is an ESTABLISHED FACT THAT ALL LIFE, INCLUDING HUMAN LIFE BEGINS AT THE MOMENT OF CONCEPTION."

These taken from..

Subcommittee onSeparationof Powers, report to Senate Judiciary Committee S-158, 97th Congress, 1st session, 1981.

FACT #4

The father of modern fetology, Dr. A. Liley said, "this is the same baby we are caring for before and after birth, who before birth can be ill and need diagnosis and treatment jsut like any other patient."

Quoted in Willke and Willke, Abortion, page 52.

If it is the same baby and the same patient both before and after birth, then it is jsut as human before it is born as after.

FACT.....Today modern medical care has made it possible for premature babies to live outside the womb earlier. But if they are human when they come out of the womb at 5 months, then they must be human if they stay in the womb. Then there are no grounds for killing them up to 9 months which is what the laws say a woman can do today.

Are you saying that all these sources I posted about Sanger are false?

Every one of them? Are you saying everyone of them are propoganda?
And this is why you're not taken seriously....we prefer debating with people who actually READ what was said:roll:
