And how many did those four go on to infect? If it's just one person each that makes eight total and so on, and on, and on... Is there a remote island, somewhere far away from normal people, where these idiots can be dumped to self-destruct?

That is the thing these people don't seem to get
it starts with 1 then that person infects 2 more that is 3 then they go on and on and it is 6, 12, ...
and seeing the Convention is just over and it could take several weeks to find out you have it, and in that time you could be in touch with several hundred people and if just 5% of them get it and they keep passing it on it will never be under control
The big thing is people do not know that they have it or not until they start feeling sick and by that time they could have infected a lot of people
Have a nice day

It seems Trump is trying to suppress his own voters as much as Democrats.

Thoughts and prayers.

He's trying to lower turnout because, historically, Republicans win when the turnout is low. That's what happened in 2016.

Trump's CDC has now said that non-symptomatic people who have been exposed don't need to be tested. It seems the COVID Express has run over them. Gotta bring those cases down somehow!

Until we have a robust testing and tracing scheme in place, this will never be under control. Especially when a third of the population just doesn't care.

Oh sure. Republicans know that when citizens vote, they lose.

best wishes for their full recoveries.

people who gather in crowds unnecessarily should be quarantined. do not gather in crowds during a pandemic.

That is for sure
I don't know about any other state but NY has set up a good tracking program , like everything else it isn't perfect but it seems to be working and that is what matters
I hope other states will look at just what NY did do and got right and follow that lead so far it doesn't seem to be the case
all they can see is the Mistakes the states of the NE made back when this all first started and there was no example of what to do and what not to do so the states of the NE had to figure it out , making mistakes along the way , and now we know what to do and what not to do the other states really should take a look at the example so we can get this under control

That's the most frustrating part: we know what to do. We just lack the fortitude to do it.

Yep, just like all of them there so-called "liberals" you are advocating a police state and a total revocation of everyone's constitutional rights.

Well, it's inconvenient not to be able to drop into a bar for a beer after a session at the tattoo parlour.

Don't forget that the usual incubation period is from 10 to 21 days. Those four people most likely did NOT catch COVID-19 at the convention. On the other hand, they most likely DID spread COVID-19 at the convention.

Then there are those people at the convention that had it, and did not get caught that spread it.

The RNC speech on the white house lawn will probably be a spreader too. Imagine how the Republicans would have responded if Obama used the white house as a back drop to a rally

That is the thing
a lot of people on the right on here can only bring up the high number of cases and deaths that were in the NE states but never give those states credit for figuring out what to do.
back when this was happening in states like NY they were getting conflicting info from DC and the CDC and they didn't have an example of what to do and what not to do
well now that they have set the example of what to do and not to do other states should be looking at that example do what works and none of them should have any where near what the NE states had ( BECAUSE THEY HAVE AN EXAMPLE TO GO BY )
just do what has been shown to work , put some real teeth in the restrictions you put into effect . and if needed FINE people who do not follow the rules.
and put in place a tight tracking system to keep track of who has it and the people they came in contact with
Have a nice afternoon

They think the Hatch act only applies to Dems and other political parties NOT Republicans
can wait to see what they say when the next Dem. president holds a lot of rallies using the WH and other Gov. properties

I know, it's the White House. Where does he get off... being, well, you know, not one of "us"... ya know...

About 1 in 8000 people in the US are testing positive EVERY DAY. So this should surprise no one.

However, look at the implications. The setting which they were found was violating all the CDC guidelines to slow down the spread of the disease. What has let a lot of the disease slow down was 'Use of masks, washing hands and social distancing'. With no masks, and no social distancing, there is a very good chance a number of people got infected. If they keep on ignoring the guidelines, more people will get infected, including their family and their friends.
