34 warships sent from US for Obama visit

I know how they'll do it...


BIDEN
I have a plan sir.

CUT BACK TO windows of INDIAN parliament. INDIAN SENTRIES suspiciously
peering towards Obama's entourage lines. Wind whistles.

Shot of the empty scrubland or undergrowth or woodland around the
parliament. Emptiness. Wind. More shots of the INDIAN SENTRIES peering
into the dusk.

During all this the sounds of extensive carpentry have possibly been
herd, followed by silence, followed by renewed outbursts or activity.

CLOSE-UP INDIAN SENTRIES looking very nervous. Dawn breaking. Shot of
woodland. Nothing. Wind. Dawn still breaking. Shots of the
INDIAN SENTRIES. They suddenly hear something. A faintly detectable squeaking
which is getting louder.

CUT TO WIDE SHOT of parliament and woodland. Squeaking getting
louder. Shot of the INDIAN SENTRIES pointing. WIDE SHOT again. The
squeaking gets louder an enormous twenty-foot-high wooden rabbit is
wheeled out of the undergrowth into the open space in front of the
parliament. The OBAMA entourage scuttle back into the undergrowth. The rabbit has
a large red bow tied round it and a rather crudely written label,
which reads "Pour votres amis INDIANS". The INDIAN SENTRIES looks at
it, narrowing their eyes. Then he turns and leaves the window.

CUT TO OBAMA and COMPANY watching from the bushes. The main door of
the parliament opens a little and the INDIAN SENTRIES heads sticks out,
then another INDIAN SENTRIES head, then another. They mutter to each other in
Hindi, look rather pleased, then rush out and start to pull the giant
rabbit in.

CUT BACK TO OBAMA and entourage behind some bushes watching.

OBAMA
Now what happens?

BIDEN
Well now, YOU, HILLARY, and I wait until nightfall and
then leap out of the rabbit and take the INDIANS by surprise, not only
by surprise but totally unarmed!

OBAMA
Who ... Who breaks out?

BIDEN
Er ... We ... YOU, HILLARY, and I ... Er ... leap out
of the rabbit and ...

HILLARY covers her eyes.

BIDEN
Look, if we were to build a large wooden badger...

None of that explains 32 warships... I mean maybe those ships were heading to the region anyway - that would make sense at least. But first, if it's economic growth and trade you seek, you don't send the President to an already close ally - you send the Secretary of State or some other underling. Second, in the case where there are terrorist attacks and using your words here - "high level terrorist attacks" I don't think I want the President going there unless it's absolutely certain he is safe on the ground... not at sea. Third, it's not the military's job to protect the President when he is traveling to other countries it's the Secret Service's job. And fourth - limosines and protective personnel and vehicles as well as other security measures are obviously needed even where terrorist attacks have not occurred - so that little comment is just ad hominem nonsense. Then you make a jab at partisans? Hypocrisy much?

There should be a rational explaination as to why these ships are going there and it can't be to protect the President.

You really have to stop operating from the position that Obama is the Messiah and therefore is infallible.

As to this trip there are reportedly more than 200 executives accompanying Obama on his visit to Mumbai and Delhi.

What is that about? Obama bashes big business then takes them on a billion dollar trip.

Oh I know what this is about. After this trip when you call the White House, it will be like calling your credit card company and the person on the other end of the phone will have such a heavy Indian accent you will barely be able to understand them.

This is all about Obama getting another all expense payed vacation disguised as having a legitimate purpose.

This total waste of money is just Obama once again using the office as if he won the welfare lotto.

This whole trip is so Obama can see the Festival of Lights and have the whole trip payed for by you and I.

US to announce major military aid package for Pakistan

The US is set to announce a significant package of military and security aid to Pakistan on Friday, the final day of the latest US-Pakistan strategic talks.

The multi-year aid package will be "no-strings-attached", officials say.

But the Obama administration will make clear it expects Islamabad to do more in the fight against Islamic militants.

Since 2005, Pakistan has received more than $1bn (£636.4m) of military aid a year from the US - and received close to $2bn for the last fiscal year.

America became a great economic power by being able to do things which no other country could do because of both our technology and industrial output. Now, in no small part due to American investment and actions since WW2, other countries can do those same things for much much cheaper. And what do many Americans say the solution is? NOT to change the nature of economy in natural evolution to give us that competitive edge again, doing things no one else can do or at least something more profitable. No instead we want to cling to the past, and try to halt world growth, world progress, so they can't compete with us, OR we want to cut ourselves off from the world so whatever they do doesn't matter to us.

Both those solutions are impossible and if attempted will only leave the US dragging behind other nations in the long run. The economy is changing, the world is changing, and as powerful an economic power the US is, it cannot stop that change it must adapt and to adapt it must suffer as it changes as well. Thats a natural economic progression, its what recessions are for, to restructure the economy, cut off the fat thats slowing us down and make more room for muscle.

It is more of the reverse. Black people saw him as "The Messiah", and thus voted for Obama. If I stated I were black, you probably wouldn't BS me into saying the majority of black people didn't vote for him to recieve things.
