We have several generations of over medicated free range boys growing up in a single mother household playing call of duty, watching porn and totally disconnected from society, feeling both entitled and short changed.
It will get worse as long as it is politically incorrect to even discuss the why.

In terms of numbers killed, white males are not the highest number - and that despite white males outnumber non-white Muslim males about 100 to 1.

Just start with the Pulse nightclub (Muslim 2nd generation immigrant) - over 100 shot and 49 killed. The reason the statistics (government) used claim white people is because Obama had such as the Pulse designated as not a terrorist action - even though on the phone he said it was - and instead claimed the reason was because he was a frustrated homosexual, blaming the shooting on homosexuality. The same for the Fort Hood shooting ("workplace violence") and generally otherwise any shooting by a Muslim was declared for reasons other than the shooter himself gave.

Statistically to their own population, then and now it remains overwhelmingly more likely you would die in a mass shooting by a Muslim.

However, all gun deaths in the USA of all kinds combined do not hold a candle to how many people are wrongly killed each year by hospital "oops" - over 250,000 PER YEAR.

I wasn't sure where to put this thread. I didn't want it in the gun control section, as that issue has been beaten to death already, and the mass shootings we're experiencing go a lot deeper than guns per se.

When Obama said that mass shootings just don't happen in other countries to the degree they do here, the Republicans cut the bolded part from his statement and said he was wrong. Trump's contribution to the discussion was to say that the synagogue that was one of the 307 should have had an armed guard.

So, do we now have armed guards at every public gathering where a shooting might occur?



That is far fewer than die by drug overdose, or even by auto accidents. Is it an acceptable number?

The latest shooting happened in California, which has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the nation. Are more restrictive gun laws the answer? I'd say, no.

Do we need to all be armed and ready for a Shootout at the OK Corral sort of incident? Who wants to live in such a society? The romanticized "wild west" never was what was shown in the movies after all. We don't need to create a fantasy world that never existed.

But, why is it that the United States, bastion of liberty, has so many incidents of mass shootings, nearly one a day? What is the sickness in our collective soul that makes it OK to go out and shoot people? Is it related to our appetite for illegal drugs? When more people die of drug overdose than of auto accidents, we should start to wonder why so many want to escape reality via chemicals.

I live in Australia and the former Prime Minister introduced tough gun laws after the worst shooting massacre on Australian soil - 35 dead in Tasmania. Since then Australia has NEVER had a mass shooting like the ones that occur almost DAILY in America. There was a knife attack in Melbourne last week and 2 people died and 3 more were injured. The police shot dead the attacker but if he had an assault rifle many more innocent people would have been killed. I feel safe here in Australia. In America I don't.
