Massive flooding in China is putting the integrity of the 3-G damn in jeaopardy.

Flooding below China's Three Gorges raise... | Taiwan News

Torrential rainfall over the past several days has brought disastrous flooding to 26 provinces in China, endangering more than 10 million people. Thus far, 13 rivers in Sichuan, Chongqing, Guangxi, and other areas have seen extensive flooding, and with more rain predicted, severe flood warnings have been issued for these rivers, including the Yangtze well into Monday (June 29).

On Saturday and Sunday (June 27 and 28), multiple videos posted on social media showed the city of Yichang, which sits just below the Three Gorges Dam, experiencing extensive flooding. Residents were cited on social media as suspecting that the flooding was a result of the massive dam opening its sluice gates to relieve stress on its structure, while ordinary citizens below pay the price.

Hmmm...

Either open the flood gates and flood a city rather than risk breaching the dam and putting the skyscrapers half buried under water.

That does seem to be the only option at this point.

Who cares. The Chinese have driven the Chinese river dolphin to extinction...

Ifthey don't release the pressure on the dam, those residents with wet cars could be facing much much worse.

Alas flooding leads to flooding leads to flooding until the lowest points have gone asunder. Then comes the backup of flood water to the middle levels.

Folk in the vast region of the Three Gorges Dam call it the "Three Great Dangers." They would know from the thousands of years of grandiose schemes since gone and forgotten or dismissed by the failed emperors again and again.

Upstream in ChongQing City (Chong Ching) there's a recently minted dam saying that "Chongqing drowns to save Wuhan" which is the city at the lowest downstream point. I dare say nobody in China has ever liked Wuhan anyway and that presently with the China Global Plague Wuhan is merely living down its historically horrid reputation among the Chinese themselves.

Shoddy Chinese construction and graft may result in hundreds of millions of deaths?

China denies millions of lives at risk as catastrophic flooding threatens Three Gorges Dam | 7NEWS.com.au

“Chinese water conservancy experts have been distressed by the government on the issue of the Three Gorges,” he is quoted as saying, with the Chinese language media site CT Want quoting Wang saying there was a “serious concern over cracks and substandard concrete discovered” during the dam’s construction.

He said a failure of the dam would have “catastrophic consequences” for individuals residing in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River and that they should prepare for evacuation as soon as possible, the news site reported.

There is a second pandemic coming with a pig virus that can be transmitted to humans. Maybe a good cleansing is in order.

Of course not. They're brown people.

I care no more for white people killed when the Mississippi floods...

But you show your true colors and say stupid offensive **** like that if you like.

Yeah, there appears to be a pig virus present alright.

There is a second pandemic coming with a pig virus that can be transmitted to humans. Maybe a good cleansing is in order.

Indeed ongoing research in China of pigs shows there's a new H1N1 strain that is definitely transmissible, yet there's not much occurring or reported to this point. 10.4 per cent (35/338) of swine workers tested positive for the G4 EA H1N1 virus. A control group aged 18 to 35 had a 20.5 per cent (9/44) infection rate so there's quite the flurry or concern all the same in a country where the labor force is far from keeping up with the demand for labor.

China is still recovering from the massive swine virus that just finished killing off half the pig population and sent pork prices to the moon given pork is the main and staple meat in China since forever. Talk about a cleansing, farmers did with the mass of dead pigs what they've always done when a plague kills their animals, ie, dump the carcases in the river and be rid of the problem. The consequence of the Party-Governments throughout China pretending there's no problem means masses of pig carcases float downstream swelling rivers, shores, docks, tributaries and the like to include getting snagged here and there along the route of the river. The lands and waters are already polluted as it is.

These floods now will leave the usual trail of debris, silt, mud, dead animals both on the land and along the subsiding rivers. The Party-Governments monitor this stuff very closely and precisely then pin their maps and stuff on the walls and say what a great job they've done documenting the disaster while people everywhere continue to need food, water, medicines, vast numbers of cleanup crews.

Chinese I think would rather have a plague than these floods because the Chinese are comfortable the authorities will pounce on a plague while the common ordinary flood is always a but much for the lazy careerist authorities to counter and to mitigate. Still, China Plagues are only increasing in virtually every respect as huge development projects keep invading forest and jungle lands where animals reside that are prone to remain with their natural habitat. So when humans come in and start knocking down things that grow, digging up the place and constructing roads and high buildings with their common areas whether commercial or residential the animals go bananas about it.

Bat fried rice anyone? Of course not and the time will come soon -- very soon -- when the tepid Party-Government no longer can deal with the succession of plague after plague across the land and beyond.

If only the Communist Party's Great Hall of the People were located right under the dam instead of tens of millions of otherwise innocent people.

That is disgusting.

I explained why... your failure to understand and lash out is your issue to work out.

Those peasants have as much control of their gov as we liberals have over our corrupt dear leader.

Can't resist bringing up an Anti-Trump comment. Classy...

Judging by the poor quality of the dam's construction and all the graft involved during the building of it, I am somewhat surprised to read that Trump's company wasn't involved.

Three Gorges Dam deformed but safe, say operators - Asia Times

"Deformed but safe" ... very comforting.

Also, I have heard that in China people know that when the CCP says "No need to panic" that is when you should panic... and the CCP has said no need to panic about Three Gorges.

It's sounding like a repeat of Chernobyl.

If the dam were to collapse and the government did not warn people downstream, it would be the end of the CPP party. They are not going to take that chance. Not after shutting down the country to contain Covid 19
