3,200+ Government Vehicles Can Avoid Traffic Cam Citations

I never knew the exact number, but it's old news that no government is going to fine itself for petty traffic violations. This is another example of how the red light cameras are a scam and highway robbery, literally.

In this particular case it's probably not directly intentional in the sense that the computer non-listing has been going on longer than the cameras have been in place, but it's still an example of the chutzpah of the government mindset in general. This can be fixed, btw, but it probably won't be.

The following list of exempted vehicles is maddening...
Agencies allowed to use vehicles not included in computerized files includes law enforcement, lottery officials, public health officials, disease investigators, mental health professionals and economic development officials pursuing new businesses.
With the exception of law enforcement vehicles... and even then only of they're actively responding to an emergency call... none of these departments has anything going on that is so critical that would justify being exempt from the same laws and standards that the rest of us are supposed to live under.
