Talk to China about it.Last month's record was especially shocking because this is a typically cooling "El Nina" year.
The warming, despite La Niña’s emergence in December, will fuel concerns that climate change is accelerating at a time when countries such as the US, the world’s largest historical polluter, pull back on commitments to reduce emissions.

Bill McGuire, emeritus professor of geophysical and climate hazards at UCL, said the January data was “both astonishing and, frankly terrifying”, adding: “On the basis of the Valencia floods and apocalyptic Los Angeles wildfires, I don’t think there can be any doubt that dangerous, all-pervasive, climate breakdown has arrived. Yet emissions continue to rise.”

Unfortunately, as we get older, we perceive temperature differences greater.Fyi, my antidoteal two cents, this is the coldest winter in my 70 years.

It seems really hot in the summer and really cold in the winter, the stuff we would shrug
off in our youth is now painful.
For the hottest January in on record, it's quite strange that my area broke a 130 year old record on snowfall. How about a link?Last month's record was especially shocking because this is a typically cooling "El Nina" year.

Fair enough, preparing to retire, I added lots of insulation, and improved my HVAC system,I am talking about the temperature and oil consumption. Duh
We know why.The more important question is WHY we are warming?
Nope, that's not it. Go to school, get yourself a PhD in climate science or least chemistry, read all the relevant literature, and engage with other climate scientists (instead of fellow non-experts on an unscientific chat site.Earth is getting warming because of an increase in Absorbed Solar Radiation,
When it comes to science, anecdotes aren't worth anything, much less two cents.Fyi, my antidoteal two cents, this is the coldest winter in my 70 years.
Oh, good, Elon hasn't shut down NOAA completely...yet.For the hottest January in on record, it's quite strange that my area broke a 130 year old record on snowfall. How about a link?
Was a comment necessary? No, it was not. When it comes to science, anecdotes aren't worth anything, much less two cents.
I am sorry you cannot follow the actual science. We know why.

Then you'd be in a position to responsibly challenge the overwhelming consensus among experts that the warming is caused primarily by human-caused greenhouse gases in our atmosphere.
Now let's compare what I said, with the observed data published in a peer reviewed study?Satellite observations from the Clouds and the Earth’s Radiant Energy System show that Earth’s energy imbalance has doubled from 0.5 ± 0.2 Wm−2 during the first 10 years of this century to 1.0 ± 0.2 Wm−2 during the past decade. The increase is the result of a 0.9 ± 0.3 Wm−2 increase absorbed solar radiation (ASR) that is partially offset by a 0.4 ± 0.25 Wm−2 increase in outgoing longwave radiation (OLR).
and here are the words from the above cited study.

For the record added CO2 is supposed to cause warming by decreasing the Outbound Longwave Radiation (OLR),The increase is the result of a 0.9 ± 0.3 Wm−2 increase absorbed solar radiation (ASR)
that is partially offset by a 0.4 ± 0.25 Wm−2 increase in outgoing longwave radiation (OLR).
Just curious but when you read that January 2025 was 0.03C above the previous record-warm January,Oh, good, Elon hasn't shut down NOAA completely...yet.
National Oceanic and Atmospheric AdministrationTHIS IS A LINK--->>>January temperature marks new global milestone<<<---THIS IS A LINKThe average global land and ocean surface temperature was 2.39 degrees F (1.33 degrees C) above the 20th-century average, ranking as the warmest January in the 176-year global climate record. This was 0.05 of a degree F (0.03 of a degree C) above the previous record-warm January of 2024.The new January global record is particularly notable for having occurred during a La Nina episode, the cold phase of El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO). Global temperatures tend to be cooler during periods of ENSO-neutral conditions and even cooler during La Nina.

Does that +/- 0.08°C exceed the 0.03 of a degree C above the previous January record? What is a range of uncertainty?
Evaluating the temperature of the entire planet has an inherent level of uncertainty. Because of this, NCEI provides values that describe the range of this uncertainty, or simply "range", of each month's, season's or year's global temperature anomaly. These values are provided as plus/minus values. For example, a month's temperature anomaly may be reported as "0.54°C above the 20th Century average, plus or minus 0.08°C." This may be written in shorthand as "+0.54°C +/- 0.08°C." Scientists, statisticians and mathematicians have several terms for this concept, such as "precision", "margin of error", or "confidence interval".
Just curious, did you read my post? It mentioned obtaining the requisite qualifications to question the global consensus by experts.Just curious but when you read that January 2025 was 0.03C above the previous record-warm January,
and then see that NOAA says this about the accuracy of their reading,
Does that +/- 0.08°C exceed the 0.03 of a degree C above the previous January record?
To me it sure looks like the increase is within the margin of error.
Your source of data was NOAA, and I simply cited NOAA's own published error margin, I sorryJust curious, did you read my post? It mentioned obtaining the requisite qualifications to question the global consensus by experts.
I'm sorry you can't find a better use of your time than trying to confuse a few internet posters with your pretend expertise.Your source of data was NOAA, and I simply cited NOAA's own published error margin, I sorry
you do not like the error margins from your own source.
Not my expertise, this is what NOAA publishes as their error margin for their global temperature data set.I'm sorry you can't find a better use of your time than trying to confuse a few internet posters with your pretend expertise.
I guess you didn't know that weather and climate are two different things.
A consensus of corrupt F*cks stuck on stupid.Just curious, did you read my post? It mentioned obtaining the requisite qualifications to question the global consensus by experts.
