nice nonsense. we get the fact that you think your hero would fare best against Palin. Palin's history
Actually quite the opposite. I understand that Palin is history....but given THAT list of sorry "front runners"....Palin would stand a better chance in the election than any of them. Sorry....but that is just the honest truth. The GOP better have something up their sleeve because none of these clowns are going to cut it.
You are wrong about mostly everything you just said.
Moderate/Liberal Republicans don't count. Tea Party Republicans favor small government.
Don't bring Bush into this. We got attacked, there was a War. They recently found out there were WMD's. It requires a lot of grand strategic planning to win a war.
Obama to the right? No offense that's the most foolish thing anyone has ever said.
I made another poll late last year. http://www.debatepolitics.com/polls/181089-2016-republican-primary.html
This time, with some candidates not running, and some new big names running, I'm making another poll. This time I'm adding multiple choice. Feel free to vote for as little or many as you'd like.
PLEASE DO NOT ASK ME WHY I DIDN'T ADD SO & SO. I MEAN YOU CAN SAY WHAT YOU WANT, BUT I'M GONNA ANSWER NOW. THESE ARE MY PERSONAL GUESSES - NOT NECESSARILY ENDORSEMENTS - JUST WHO I'M GUESSING IS MOST LIKELY TO RUN, AND OF THE 10 BIGGEST NAMES AND MOST LIKELY TO BE THE TOP 10 CANDIDATES. I COULD BE RIGHT, I COULD BE WRONG. SO WHILE YOU CAN REPLY WITH WHAT YOU WANT, I DO WANT TO MAKE THIS POLL LESS ABOUT WHO YOU THINK WILL RUN OR NOT RUN, AND MORE ABOUT WHICH CANDIDATES YOU LIKE OR DON'T LIKE, AND WHY.
Let's have fun with this discussion!
I am laughing at this hackery. this is coming from a guy who worships hillary and claims people like Rand Paul is a jok
YOu don't believe Palin would have any chance and neither do I
What a sorry list. There isn't a name on that list that stands a realistic chance. Sarah Palin would beat all of them. The GOP's best shot is running Romney again.
Where is John Kasich and Rob Portman. far more likely candidates than no chancers like Bolton
The Republicans are an anti-freedom party of big, excessive government and the Bush presidency was a failure of epic proportions on all levels. No other President was such a threat to basic civil and human rights as Bush, and thanks to him, the Middle East is a total mess now and we have to deal with ISIS. Cleaning up Bush's mess will take decades.
The Democrats at least are spot on on many general ideas, although the execution is lacking and they got not much through due to extremist-uncompromising Republican obstruction. IMO.
I agree with the Americans who say the Dems have moved from the left into the center (Obama is a center-right politician) and the Reps have moved into an insane asylum (thanks to Tea Party and so on).
There's a very obvious disconnect between what Teaparty Republicans, claim and what they do.
Yes, often. But Mitt Romney isn't taking the steps necessary to build a campaign team like he had done before.
I would never catch myself voting for any of the above. However, if I had to choose the least terrible candidate, I'd probably shoot for Rand Paul. He definitely has his problems but he generally seems to be a bit more reasonable on the issues important to me than the rest on that list. Looks like he's in favor of some sort of amnesty, he doesn't want to bomb countries left and right, he's *ok* on civil liberties (though he seems to be selling himself out on that as the election gets closer), he's against the war on drugs, etc.
Ted Cruz is a total nutjob. Christie is an authoritarian idiot. Jeb Bush...we don't need another Bush in office. Bobby Jindal same as Cruz. Ben Carson has next to no experience and has made his political career thus far only on trashing Obama at some dinner and talking about how bad Obamacare is. Rick Santorum is an absolute theocrat. Rick Perry is a criminal. Scott Walker/John Bolton I don't know enough about them.

The only contest Palin would win is a beauty contest and possibly a drinking one. She doesnt even have a positive favorable rating in Alaska
If you read carefully, I never said Palin would win anything...but neither will any of the others in the current list of GOP "front runners". I stand by my comment that Palin (while she would never win) would probably put up a better showing than pretty much any of these others.
(You KNOW its bad when Romney is currently running 15-20 points higher than anyone else...and he has said he won't run. Clearly, the voters do not like ANY of those mentioned as possible contenders for the 2016 GOP nod).
How many times has some one said that 2 years before election, then ran? Alot.
I'm not American and can't vote in America, but if things remain as they look now, the one candidate from any party will get my sympathy who has the harshest, iron-proof hardline course towards Russia, by default.
If I were American, I'd probably prefer the Democrats, as IMO they have better domestic policy ideas. But since I'm not living in America, I focus on foreign policy. And I'll root for the one candidate who is determined breaking Russia's economic neck and seriously brings the goal of regime change there on the table -- while at the same time being determined to support America's NATO allies in Europe, to save our whiny, sorry asses once again. No matter if Dem or Rep.
So I can't cast a vote in this poll until I know their stances on Russia better. This is not the time for the slightest bit of appeasement.
The only ones on that list that would have even a chance of winning the general election would be Jeb Bush and Scott Walker. I don't think Rand Paul could win the general, and the rest would do good to pick up 10 states.
Of the possible GOP candidates, these are the ones I think stand the best chance of actually winning in 2016 should they run:
John Kasich
Jeb Bush
Mike Pence
Rob Portman
Scott Walker
Mitt Romney
and possibly should he actually decide to run, Jeff Flake.
I don't get the Republican primary voter mindset that makes them think some total nutjob like Ben Carson would stand even the most remote chance of ever winning a general election in today's America.
How exactly would Palin do better than any of the other candidates in the general election if she couldnt win the GOP primary? Shes not exactly a moderate
I said if she COULD get the nomination....she would do better than any of the current front runners in the GE. It was more of a comment on the sorry lot of potential candidates than it was about Palin.
How would Palin do better in the GE if she doesnt have the ability to win the GOP nomination? I could see that argument if it was a moderate or left center GOP candidate but a far right winger like Palin that comment seems ignorant at best.
Because Palin has a rabid fan base. She would rile up the masses and get them excited in ways that the current hum-drum candidates can not. Problem for her is that she doesn't have enough fans to win the GE....
If she doesnt have enough fans to win the GOP nomination there is no way she could do the best in the general election since there isnt anyone outside the GOP that would vote for her.
Bobby Jindal would be a good President, but I don't know if he is able to maintain the commanding presence necessary to win a primary.
Gotta agree Bolton seems like it came from left field. Portman was heavily mentioned for VP in 2012 and hes a moderate from a swing state a very attractive candidate although I wouldnt vote for him
