2016: 68 Major Corporations oppose NC's trans'Bathroom Bill'

"Opponents of North Carolina’s HB2 “bathroom bill” - which prevents transgender people from using restrooms that do not match the gender on their birth certificate - are being joined by some very powerful partners.

Former Solicitor General and Prop 8 litigator Theodore B. Olson has authored an amicus brief supporting the Justice Department’s effort to block HB2, and 68 major corporations have signed on. These companies include American Airlines, Apple, Cisco, eBay, General Electric, IBM, Intel, LinkedIn, Microsoft, NIKE and Salesforce.

The amicus brief advocates for the corporations’ transgender employees and customers and argues HB2 is undermining their ability to do business both within and outside the Tar Heel State."

Its pretty remarkable, just 8 years ago, transgenders were treated with equality and decency. Its been a hard campaign by the right-wing to demonize them and change the narrative, but it looks like its been worth it for them.
 
It is pretty remarkable, just 4 years ago women were treated with equality and decency. It has been a hard campaign by the left wing to discard their rights and show such level of disrespect that they don't even consider what they think.
Thank God - getting back to respecting women.

The right to compete in a fair manner and not get pummeled and dominated by a men pretending to be women.
The right as a human being to feel safe and comfortable in a public restroom and not have that ripped from you and called a bigot if you don't like it.

Then go after cisgender creeps who would violate that without "dressing up" as a woman. You realize trans people are far more likely to be the victims of sexual violence, right? What about their rights?

It's just remarkable how hard the right-wing was able to get people to turn on trans genders.

Not a coincidence that women lost the right to control their own bodies in the same period.

Not on transgenders but on lies.

A man who identifies as a woman is not a woman and nothing in this world that can make him one.

If this reality is such a problem then you have a complaint with the universe not with right wingers. You can't expect people to tell you the lies you want to hear.

It is very difficult to understand exactly why the conservatives have been so willing to go after the trans-gendered with so much vindictiveness. These are people that are usually struggling with serious psychological and emotional issues. It must be devastating to them to know there are huge numbers of people in the US that hate them enough to prevent their use of public restrooms, deny prevent their consultation with medical and psychological personnel, deny them entrance into the military, withhold medications and label them perverts looking for victims in public bathrooms even though there have been no cases of this happening.

Can some conservative explain this animosity?

I'm of the idea that all the time leading up to about 2013 or so nobody said anything about the bathrooms and transexuals rarely raised an eyebrow. As to what changed I'm not sure. Why did this all the sudden become an issue?
 
Another way of saying this: We are past Peak Woke. The radical trans activists spent years trying to bully people for advocating completely mainstream views, tried to control people's speech, and tried to make people forget reality through repetitive mantras like Trans Women Are Women.

None of it worked. Not only did they fail to change people's minds, they generated a lot of backlash from people who previously had no animosity toward them. I mean, I think of all the goodwill they had in 2015 after the Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage. Trans activists could have just continued to tie themselves to the LGB part of the LGBT acronym, and celebrated a big win on a completely reasonable policy.

But no. Instead they spent the following decade advocating for male rapists in women's prisons, men in women's sports leagues, puberty blockers for tweens, and shouting at anyone who wouldn't call them ze/zir.

They played themselves.

Apparently not if there is any restriction on abortion. No tattoos, no piercings, no drinking no sex. Because that's all the same thing you know
