Since we all know that anything and everything that goes wrong in this country (or the world for that matter, tsunami anyone?) is Bush's fault, I'm willing to bet that the liberal media spin pins this one on Bush by the end of the week, any takers?

This topic is useless.

You obviously do not genuinely think that there is any real way that a mine explosion could be reported to become Bush's fault - you are simply using this topic to be inflammatory and to press the idea of a liberal media. If you want to discuss your perception of a liberal media, make a topic around it - don't make nonsensical statements such as this.

It's obviously his fault...

Bush has consistantly opposed all environmental regulation that would prevent the immediate and magical discoveries of alternative fuels, which forces the country to continue to use the same fossil fuels used for over a century...These fossil fuels have to be mined in a physical and dangerous manner, which, although has been done for quite awhile, is ALSO Bush's fault I might add...

Don't laugh cuz it aint funny this is going to be one of the many arguments made as to Bush's calpublility not to mention the rescue efforts were delayed for a while because of carbon monoxide, and just look Bush is nowhere to be found proving he was slow to react. In fact the workers may have been black so I suspect that Bush blew the mine on purpose because he's a racist. Kanye West: "George Bush doesn't care about black people."

You mark my words this will be Bush's fault somehow by the end of the week guaranteed, just like Katrina and the tsunami, they will find a way and you can take that to the bank, I guarantee Dean's got a memo already in circulation to all members of the DNC to figure out the best way to pin this on Bush, this is politics there's no such thing as paranoia.

Well, of course.

a) Coal mine is energy, Bush is buddies with energy bigwigs, the owners of the mine certainly got concessions on safety in exchange for campaign cash.

b) Bush is so busy running around bragging about nothing much in Iraq that he forgot to inspect that mine.

c) Bush inspected that mine, but he's so stupid he didn't turn the lights on.

d) The mine was actuall a secret CIA interrogation center where suspected innocent terrorists were being tortured by getting good food and lots of rest, of forced to wear women's panties on their heads (how awful!), and it was exploded before the NY Times could break the story.

e) It wasn't an accident, but the Bush people are claiming it was because they don't want news of a new terrorist attack on CONUS to start the New Year. Failure to stop a terrorist attack is clearly Bush's fault, just like it was never Clinton's fault.

Wouldn't put it past Rove to conjure up a mine explosion in an effort to distract from the pathetic Bush administration's disastrous adventure in Iraq.

Inquiring minds want to know about that terrible mine explosion... why now? Only President Bush knows for sure!

I will only hold him to be accountable for his actions. Unless it is proven to me that Bush did anything to "undermine" this explosion. However... this thread has become a sardonic virtue in mocking the legitimate concerns some people may have with the Bush Administration.

I almost forgot... Bush does no wrong. By god, how could he! He's a fricking saint.

(insert rhetoric evil laughter here)

If you think this will actually happen, you have a very skewed sense of reality.

We called it for Katrina look what happened, this is politics there's no such thing as paranoia.

Except there was a legitimate problem with how Bush handled Katrina, there is really nothing that could be done on a federal level to assist in a small-scale mine cave in that affects a few dozen people (at most). There's really nothing for Bush to do here. There is no way you could really think that there will be a genuine attempt to pass off a mine explosion as Bush's fault.

First off there was no legitimate reason to pin a natural disaster and state and local failures on Bush, second off just wait and see like I said 10-1 odds I expect payment by next Monday.

This is ridiculous. The critisim on Katrina was how Bush and the federal government handled the disaster. There is no way anyone can expect to actually blame a natural occurance on the president. It was how he handled it, how so many things went wrong and how incompetant the government's response seemed to be.

Oh and I like how you think it's stupid to blame Katrina on Bush, but so easily blame Katrina on the local and state officals. But I realize that arguing this with you would be as pointless as this post is.

I'm not going to get in to Katrina but anyone versed in the inner workings of state politics would realize who is to blame for the failings on how the disaster was handled, however, as per the pointless nature of my post just wait a week and you'll be eating your words.

Remember kids Bush hates black people so that's why he blew up the levies it had nothing to do with the Democratic socialist mayors and governors spending their federal money that was supposed to be used for fixing the levies on social welfare, or the fact that they didn't have mandatory evacuations, or that they didn't ask for federal assistance and the national guards to come in which is necessary due to Posse Comitus. Remember kids that the Democrats will turn any tragedy into a hate Bush fest just give it a week and the mine explosion will be Bush's fault in a week guaranteed.

Yeah okay, you sound like someone who is well informed. I can't believe you are serious about this. I mean really... this is so stupid! And as previously mentioned... pointless. And if by some slim chance anyone ever does say that I know you will be the only person that listens to them. I'm done here.

Don't try to tell me what I'll believe, you don't know me well enough to presume things like this, and to make this accusation is absurd. I'm done with this thread.

Didn't you already say that and I can presume what you'll think due to your name 'lefy,' speaks volumes.

Since the obvious purpose of this thread is to troll, I think I will take a bite.

Is this a cocaine mine? Is it an alcohol mine? Is it a prescription downer mine?

No it isnt.

Therefore, Bush doesnt care about the mine.

Conclusion: Barring the possibility that President Bush was freebasing near explosive gases, the mine explosion is not Bush's fault.

Happy now?

 It's funny cause it's true.

I told you people but you didn't believe me now it's official Bush is to blame for the mine disaster:

Lawmakers Call For Immediate Congressional Hearings into Mine Safety to Help Prevent Another Tragedy

Say Congress Has Abdicated its Oversight Responsibilities on Worker Safety Issues, While Bush Administration has Filled Worker Safety Agencies with Industry Insiders

Since Mr. Lauriski resigned his position in November 2004, the agency has been operating under an acting administrator. The President did not nominate a replacement for Mr. Lauriski until September 2005. That replacement has yet to take his seat.

With mining company officials at the helm of MSHA, the agency’s focus has clearly shifted away from protecting miners. A 2005 report by the AFL-CIO found that “at MSHA, 17 standards to improve safety and health for miners have been withdrawn since President Bush took office, including the Air Quality, Chemical Substances and Respiratory standards…For the most part at MSHA, those standards that have been proposed during the Bush Administration favor industry by moving to roll back existing protections. There are no pending standards to protect miners from hazards on their job.”

No dice. They're looking for reform, and the fact that Bush has loaded the safety angencies with people that likely have financial conflicts-of-interest is a legitimate point. No one is blaming this specific incident on Bush, they're looking for ways to fix it so it doesn't happen in the future - Bush's appointees are open to criticism.
