1,600 former Justice Department lawyers accuse Barr of using DOJ to help Trump in election

In an open letter, former Justice Department attorneys expressed concerns Thursday that Attorney General William Barr is using the power of the agency to help Trump win reelection.

WASHINGTON – Former Justice Department attorneys expressed concerns Thursday that Attorney General William Barr is using the power of the agency to help President Donald Trump win reelection, citing statements Barr had made about mail-in ballots and the politically fraught inquiry into the Russia investigation.

"We fear that Attorney General Barr intends to use the DOJ's vast law enforcement powers to undermine our most fundamental democratic value: free and fair elections," according to an open letter signed by about 1,600 former Justice Department employees.

Barr has echoed the president's attacks on mail-in ballots as more states have allowed voting by mail due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Trump supporters, due to their news sources, do not understand the clear and present danger that Trump is presenting to American Democracy, this is, one of the most dangerous moments American Democracy has ever faced.

And Trumpists are cheering it on... You may not like what you get for that.

And mark my words, even Trump detractors, most of you, I do not think grasp the sheer gravity of this situation...

I saw one of the agents Tweeting earlier. I really hope they have a better grasp on this situation than the public is aware of. I hope they have a plan. I really hope. I remember the Anonymous writer who said that there is a quiet resistance in the White House... idk. I try to have some hope.
 
Real simple folks.These DOJ Attorneys are what is called " Holdovers ".
Like many still in the CIA and F.B.I who have been hampering and hounding
Trump ever since he was Inaugurated.These " holdovers " are part of
Obama's Deep State.We have been told it could take years to clear them out.
That is what Barr is facing.He is still surrounded by Obama " holdovers ".
Who are leaking and causing trouble as much as possible.
We just witnessed yesterday the absolute unravelling of James Comey as he
was questioned by Congress.He in effect flip-flopped on what he's been on record
saying previously.Gee Ya Tnk.Because as out President said every week now.
Because they've Been caught { red-handed }. Recent release of documents reveal
what went on as far as Trump being spied upon.Then Framed.Operation
- Crossfire Hurricane - has been unravelled.By Notes and memos of those guilty of
Spying and Framing Trump as Candidate and then after being elected.
Our Vaunted Press and MSM have refused to cover this.Just as they did with
Operation - Fast & Furious -.
 

Thank you for posting this, JacksinPA. I would have had no doubt, even without the (very welcome) letter from the former DOJ attorneys that Bill Barr was doing everything he could to help Donald Trump with any part of the government which he could touch. I would be interested to know how much he controlled (and what branches of government and/or the military he called on to help engineer) the clearing of Lafayette Park so that Trump could cross it free of people exercising their First Amendment rights to hold up a Bible for a photo op.

There are things beyond William Barr and his use of the DOJ which alarm me about what Trump is up to with the election. I do not know if we know even half of the plans he has made or the groups he has engaged to fight on his behalf. People have been talking about vigilante gangs like The Proud Boys since the debates. Might there be anyone in the army who might follow him, though, given the right circumstances, for example his invoking The Insurrection Act? How are army officers to determine if an order is lawful or not? If The Act was called lawfully or not? What if he asks Russia for the help of some élite groups of troops?

So far he has done things that are far worse than anything I ever imagined he could. He may continue to do so.

the only valid fear they have is that four more years of Trump means that the people they are envious of, will not be screwed as much by the government, as they would be under Biden.
 

That's the Rub.That many whites thunk that by Electing the First Black
President it would finally clear up any notions as to the appearance of a
Racist Country.How wrong that notion turned out.How Dramatically off
base.Obama was elected and greeted by a massive Inauguration.
Then almost every chance Abroad ... Obama made a point of reflecting on
the sins of the United States.Basically how unfair and unjust and
race reflective we were once.As if that is how the U.S. should be defined
and remembered.
Now we find out that Obama and Hillary commit the most traitorous
plot in our History.They planned and mounted a silent coup.
To spy on and then Frame Donald Trump's candidacy and then more
so once elected.And it never stopped.
 
I wonder why they are former employees. Did they get fired?
 
Probably the same 600 that helped Obama weaponize the DOJ, IRS, and the Intel Community.
