"It's just so easily transmitted from person-to-person." As of August 9, he said, "half of the children that we've admitted have been under the age of 2."

630,000 Americans have died from covid 19. I'd say the risks from Covid are far more pressing especially for school age children who come home and spread covid to their families. But your whataboutism is noted. Upwards of 120,000 kids under 2 are hospitalized each year for RSV. Same transmission pattern which can be transmitted to adults (14,000 adults per year die from it).
I'm not against masks in schools. If a district is representing their populace and they want it, then go for it. FWIW, My grandchildren, girl, 13 and boy,10, both got COVID the last week In July. The girl had one vaccine shot. She got it from younger children that she was babysitting. All parents were vaccinated. Both grandchildren has mild symptoms for 24 hours and were done with their quarantine before school started. I'm actually glad that the boy got COVID before going back to school, since our pro-COVID governor has issued a no mask mandate mandate. This was the only way for a 10 year old to be protected.how the hell would we know? do you have a system that tracks who each person infects, and who they infect, and who they infect and then who all dies along the way?

I agree that the FDA needs to approve the vaccine for children under 12, ASAP. I also think it should be distributed at pharmacies, just like the adult doses. If we are strict by these rates, we would expect 2 deaths given this number of cases.so, you're thinking a half a million infected kids could potentially lead to no deaths and them not infecting other people and that could lead to no deaths?
