“Decolonize”: Yale students circulate petition opposing white male poets

I have no idea why these kind of folks go to schools like Yale.

I feel bad for the school administration.
I dont. If the administration isnt capable enough to tell those spoiled little ****s to shut up and color or get kicked out of school, they deserve their fate. When you allow the inmates to run the asylum...they will.

More foolishness that takes us even further away from honest discussion on race relations. But that is the nature of the game today, speaking volumes about why this is so sad.

it's easier to blame white men for the world's ills than to discuss address those ills rationally. then again, we're not really dealing with people who want to discuss anything, much less rationally, if the group-think PC brigade is even capable of being rational anymore.

White male authors are studied more because there has been more study worthy literature written by white males than other groups. Where there is study worthy literature written, it too gets studied.

If you are a member of another group and want to make a difference, stop writing notes to the school, learn well, write your own better literature and beat them at their own game.

The actions of these students, as with others across the Nation, is simply confirmation that the $10 of millions spent to manipulate and control them is paying dividends. It's a manufactured effort seeking social discord to accomplish a goal. That these kids have fallen so easily for such manipulation speaks volumes of their maturity, and of the effort to capitalize on their lack of it.

it is the generation of the you can't tell them no.

they do not understand how to logically express themselves with reason and logic.
everything is driven by emotions and feelings in which they have no maturity in because
they were never told no.

my kids don't like it when I tell them no.
my response is you don't always get what you want when you want it.

I agree.

That is why the effort to control and manipulate them has gained so much traction. By suggesting "yes" all the time, it plays to their naiveté, while allowing them to believe they are thinking for themselves.

It would appear they are not prepared for the rude awakening. Unfortunately, they may discover too late that they have sold themselves out.

that won't hit till they are 30 or so and they are wondering why they are not moving up in the world.
or they will get mad and quit every job they get when their boss tells them no and they don't understand why.

I tell me kids all the time. you need to follow instructions as long as they do not endanger you.
I tell them when your teacher or your mom or myself ask you to do something you need to listen.

when your boss asks you to do something when you get older you need to listen if not you will get fired.

I unless they are telling you to do something that is not right or wrong.

Yale English lit students think that white male writers are overrepresented. Thoughts?

I think its funny the left eating its own. These liberal universities have bred this lib-tard insanity and it coming to bite them in the ass.

This is amusing on so many levels, I haven't a clue as to whether or not we should encourage these students in wasting their lives on this crusade or demean them in the process. Heck, why not both?

I recall one entry I read about one of New York's highest cultural critics in the early 20th century who thought he was doing his part for the coming socialist revolution by writing his stanzas. I burst out laughing upon reading it.

It is a poetry class, they are not gaining employable skills anyways.

Being able to read, understand, and write a coherent sentence in English is an employable skill.

My thoughts are if Milton's Paradise Lost, Shakespeare's The Rape of Lucrece, and Chaucer's The Man of Laws Tale, among others, were part of my core, I'd probably quit, too and take up something like communications or graphic arts after getting some therapy. That **** is worse than studying differential equations or linear algebra.

Thoughts?

People have to stop assuming that Ivy League students MUST be intelligent.

Except that is not what poetry at a university level teaches. If you cannot do that by the time you enter a university there is a much bigger issue.

You'd be amazed at the number of STEM students who can't write a coherent college-level essay, complete with an introduction, a body, and a conclusion. And getting them to write one on a Chaucer or Shakespeare poem would be like asking them to develop Relativity.

Yeah. They created the monster and now they've lost control of it.

However, the monster will eventually run out of steam and die. Once that happens, sanity can rebuild the damage.....until the Libturds create a new monster.
