TEHE. His casinos are all bankrupt. Now Trump supporters will go on and on about how Trump wasn't really involved in any of them.... Hm....So Trump is lying about them being successful then? No defense here.

Oh also probably how evil Chris Wallace is or something..

“I think we’ve wasted enough time on this witch hunt,” Trump snapped. “The answer is probably we’re finished.”

“What are the odds?” Wallace pressed. “One in a hundred?”

“I don’t do odds,” Trump replied.

“You ran a casino, sir,” Wallace chuckled.

“You’re right,” Trump fired back. “And very successfully, actually.”

Actually, Trump's Casinos were successful in that they made money. The beauty of casinos is that it's hard not to turn a profit. The problem was that they couldn't make enough to keep up the payments on the massive debt load Trump saddled them with for their construction.

I wouldn't consider that description...success.

Translation: Trump took a business that should have been profitable and ran it into the ground.

Sad.

Trump Entertainment Resorts, Inc. is a gaming and hospitality company that owned and operated the now shuttered Trump Taj Mahal hotel and casino, as well as the now shuttered Trump Plaza, the demolished Trump World's Fair and the now-renamed Trump Marina located in Atlantic City, New Jersey, United States.....Trump Entertainment Resorts and its predecessors have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection four times, in 1991, following construction of the $1-billion Trump Taj Mahal, and in 2004, 2009 and 2014.

Reef Casino Trust looks quite successful. I wonder how they keep capital expense down in order to pay a bi-annual dividend.

“Very successfully”, bankrupting 3 large business, financially hurtling every one involved, is trump’s idea of “successfully”.

And his supporters complain when he’s kept from becoming a SUCCESSFUL President. :doh

First of all, odds making is done by specialists with in the guidelines of state law. So its very unlikely a casino owner would be involved in odds setting. Wallace’s comment was a tongue in cheek comment. “Gotcha” is not Wallace’s style, even if it works for you.

And if you know anything about casinos, gambling, odds, or luck, you would know you can win in the short run but you will lose in the long run. That can happen with businesses too. The swampers are terrified of people who have been successful in the private sector, as swampers are nearly universally rent seekers who have been on the public teat for most their entire working lives and have no clue as to the burdens they create from simple ignorance.

Well, Trump certainly didn't know the odds of going bankrupt so many times. :D

Do you have any proof of that?

And did Trump know New Jersey was going to legalize gambling and cut off their lucrative northeastern market?

So ignoring his business expenses the business was profitable? No, that's not how that works. He went bankrupt precisely because he gave out more than he made.

Trump hasn't been successful in business. I do believe he is broke, or at least, has not much more money than what he started out with thanks to Daddy. Practically every single business of his has failed. Including his "presidency."

LOL!

More accurately, since Trump in an incompetent simpleton, "You ran a casino into the ground."

Do you have any proof of that?

Actually there’s a very well done documentary on the trump’s casino’s and the unsustainable debt he “saddled” them with.

Red:
Boy...Trump walked right into that!

Plus, his retort was completely non-sequitur, and, frankly, flat-out insipid....A successful casino owner would most certainly "do odds." It's the failed ones who'd demur from them because their failing in the casino business shows that "doing odds" clearly wasn't something at which they were adept.

Trump's response to Wallace is one of the clues that inform sharp people that Trump is a self-absorbed mediocre to poor thinker. A quick, humble, honest and self-confident thinker would have replied with something akin to, "Yes, I did, and we all know I wasn't particularly good at it, so, recognizing my own weaknesses, it's best that I leave giving odds to bookmakers, actuaries and statisticians."

Such a response would have left Wallace and viewers with only one option, that of moving on and having no apt derogatory observation to make afterwards. Why? Because truth and humility are supremely puissant.

But Trump didn't reply with something like the above, and thus is shown why Trump eschews interviews with serious journalists, preferring instead the BS banter of the likes of Fox and Friends' hosts who won't respond to him with remarks from which there's no recovery.

Trump didn't run casinos. He owned them. Their relative success (or not) may be fodder for discussion, but generally the owners of such businesses don't get into the nuts and bolts of daily operation. It's pretty silly to compare such businesses to that of the mom and pop grocery store or your local mechanic.

Actually, Wallace has been pushing that "gotcha" style more and more. He knows it's good for ratings nowadays.

NJ had legalized gambling way before Trump came into the picture. It literally had nothing to do with how he ran his business into the ground. Nice try.

That isn't "successful."

That's not even what "profit" means.

yeah, he ran a casino. into the ****ing ground.

Which has absolutely nothing whatever to do with this thread. Read the OP. You posted it.

In my OP I wrote: Trump supporters will claim that Trump had nothing to do with his casinos.

Which still has nothing whatever to do with your immediately previous comment to me, or the OP. I didn't defend Trump. I offered reality.

You got owned when I pointed out that Daddy Trump stole from his son's own casino. If that's not getting into the nuts and bolts, I don't know what is.
