What Jefferson Got Wrong About Freedom of Religion

But how is that an argument against freedom of religion in America? The entire point of the concept is to not have religious persecution. That's what made emigrating to America so popular among the Irish.

What Jefferson Got Wrong About Freedom of Religion

Freedom of religion is one of the biggest reasons that people came to America in the first place. To be able to believe what you want to believe, to practice and preach whatever faith you please. It's an extremely attractive concept to people who have never known anything other than religious...

Did the Grand Canyon take 65 million to form?

I'm sorry, but dogs and wolves are not the same thing. Dogs are descended from wolves, but they are very distinct, with many adaptations which differentiate them from both ancient wolves and modern wolves. Being able to crossbreed with modern wolves does not necessarily make them the same...

    Refusing heart transplant for anti-vaxxer

Given that we are currently still in the midst of a massive national spike in coronavirus cases, it is quite reasonable for the transplant team to assume that this man will at some point be exposed to Covid. Given that likely eventuality, he will have a much better chance of survival if he has...

Did the Grand Canyon take 65 million to form?

Dogs are not wolves. They are a distinct and separate species. Natural selection is only one of the mechanisms which drive the evolution of species. The others are sexual selection and artificial selection. Dogs are a result of artificial breeding engineered by humans. We selected traits that we...

Did the Grand Canyon take 65 million to form?

There is currently no proof that the species of ardipithecus are the direct ancestors of humans. Rather, they are more likely a separate branch of our family tree, which occurred after the previous divergence between the last common ancestor of chimps and humans. This would put them in a similar...

Did the Grand Canyon take 65 million to form?

Human beings did not evolve from chimps, and evolutionary science does not and never has made such a claim. The only people who think that are people who do not understand how evolution works. Humans did not evolve from chimps. We share a common ancestor with chimps. They are our closest...

Did the Grand Canyon take 65 million to form?

The only thing this research is evidence of is a fundamental misunderstanding of what epigenetics is. Epigenetics is the study of how environment and behavioral changes can alter the expression of a genome. Therefore, epigenetic differences between different species of great ape are a result of...

Did the Grand Canyon take 65 million to form?

The problem is that none of that data is falsifiable. It is impossible to either prove or disprove religious testimony, or the word of a prophet. Therefore, the scientific value of such is dubious at best.

Did the Grand Canyon take 65 million to form?

The grand canyon being younger than we thought it was doesn't prove that God exists, or that he sent a giant flood to exterminate most of humanity. It is true that scientists are constantly debating and reevaluating their previous conclusions. But nothing they have discovered so far would lead a...

    Playfulness Indicates More Romantic Partners

Happiness can look a great deal different for different people.

    Playfulness Indicates More Romantic Partners

There is a lot of evidence to suggest that humans are not naturally monogamous animals, and that emphasis on strict monogamy is largely a cultural phenomenon rather than a biological one. Certainly there are many cultures which do not practice strict monogamy, as much for economic reasons as for...

BLM DC complains that shot police officers treated as 'heroes' in 'tear jerker press conferences'

BLM hasn't become anything other than what they always were: a voice speaking on behalf of black lives, and black victims of the police. If you don't support that, then you don't really believe that "all lives matter."

BLM DC complains that shot police officers treated as 'heroes' in 'tear jerker press conferences'

Nobody ever cared enough to say "all lives matter" until "black lives matter" became a thing. It's only ever said by people who don't support BLM. But if all lives really matter, then black lives should matter too.

BLM DC complains that shot police officers treated as 'heroes' in 'tear jerker press conferences'

Who are you trying to fool? Cops care about other cops first and foremost; everyone else is secondary.

BLM DC complains that shot police officers treated as 'heroes' in 'tear jerker press conferences'

Cops don't give a shit about protecting others. They want to get paid and go home like anyone else. This idiotic hero worship is what protects cops from consequences when they screw up.

    Capitalism + Healthcare = Death

I feel that a one to two year study is inadequate to observe the full impact of what universal health coverage could actually achieve if adopted nationwide on a permanent basis.

    Capitalism + Healthcare = Death

Of course, a pandemic is always going to apply serious strain to any healthcare system. But that doesn't mean there aren't serious problems with the US setup, or that these problems don't compoud the difficulties in dealing with the pandemic.

    Capitalism + Healthcare = Death

I doubt that. But if you'd care to link some information, or paraphrase it, I'm all ears.

    Capitalism + Healthcare = Death

Even during acute spikes, a healthier population overall will be less vulnerable. Early preventative care means less need for costly emergency treatment later on.
