Chomsky and Aristotle on the Common Good

    ^---That's a hierarchy.

Chomsky and Aristotle on the Common Good

Do you not know what a hierarchy is? It's literally what the topic is. It's your entire OP.
  4. Fishking

Chomsky and Aristotle on the Common Good

This IS the topic. It's the assumption that hierarchies are a result vs their absence and what that means.

Chomsky and Aristotle on the Common Good

This perfectly demonstrates that you do not understand communism.

Chomsky and Aristotle on the Common Good

Communist societies, as you wrote above, are always tyrannical. In a free system some will excel while others do not, mostly via their own choices and actions. That doesn't mean there can't be any social safety net measures but it does mean that people need the freedom to excel and innovate.

What practical solutions can "antiwar" proponents offer?

I already gave it, in post #83, where the comment flowed from.
  8. Fishking

Chomsky and Aristotle on the Common Good

They build societies. A society that has no hierarchies can only be achieved through tyranny.

What practical solutions can "antiwar" proponents offer?

Normal people would look for the context a comment is coming from before they walk into it and respond out of ignorance.

What practical solutions can "antiwar" proponents offer?

So you don't want to actually learn anything and prefer war. Again, got it. I don't care. So you prefer war and lots of dead people and suffering. You don't have an actual solution or answer. You look around of world and see the results of our current style of foreign policies and see all...

What practical solutions can "antiwar" proponents offer?

I just said them. Read it or not. Up to you.

Chomsky and Aristotle on the Common Good

Well, you're wrong. There's just no way around it. One child can put effort into their schoolwork and get better grands, the other won't. One person can put more effort into sports and another won't. One person can innovate something new, another won't. The idea that hierarchies are a...

Chomsky and Aristotle on the Common Good

Why would you prevent them? That's nothing more than stifling free will, property rights, and innovation.

The Left Needs to Take Back the Constitution

There isn't any context that changes the fact that personhood status is a philosophical position, not a scientific one. If you go with science you just acknowledge that a fetus is a human being.

Chomsky and Aristotle on the Common Good

You'll have to clarify what you're referring to with your comment as it could be referring to the statement as a whole or it could be taken to say that you think the hierarchies are caused by predation and unfairness.
  16. Fishking

Chomsky and Aristotle on the Common Good

Any free society will result in hierarchies that naturally develop and it has nothing to do with predation or unfairness or any other such thing.

What practical solutions can "antiwar" proponents offer?

There is a Libya still? I don't think it can even be considered a country at this point.

The Left Needs to Take Back the Constitution

I didn't say anything about personhood status, but what is "personhood" is a philosophical question, which means it can have any number of definitions. Historically, denying the personhood of various groups of humans has always been bad.

What practical solutions can "antiwar" proponents offer?

OK...so you prefer war. Got it. Apparently you read the words, but didn't care to understand them. Russia wouldn't "de facto" control them as the treaty specifically would be neutral, so you went with making shit up. Face it, you don't care if war happens and you don't care about real...
