  • Hello. I'm really trying hard to figure out how to use all this posting, threading, and answering messages is done. I posted once, I'm a simple person and I'm not lying. :2razz: Hope you'll hang in there, until I get my feet.
Hello, amigo. I have read some of your posts on the forum, and can tell you care a lot about your country. Reading some of these things that you have posted has given me pause for thought, as I am not certain as to what socialism really entails. Is it government regulation or social programs like medicare or social security? Or is it more of an idea that government should take a more active stance in governing? I suppose government could take a more involved stance, but is the idea to promote economic activity, or is it to ensure equality and basic human dignity?

I suppose I'm just not sure exactly where you stand. And I was wondering if you could describe your political outlook to me. Thanks.
George Orwell was a democratic socialist.
"Eric Arthur Blair (25 June 1903 – 21 January 1950),[1] better known by his pen name George Orwell, was an English novelist and journalist. His work is marked by keen intelligence and wit, a profound awareness of social injustice, an intense opposition to totalitarianism, a passion for clarity in language and a belief in democratic socialism."

Thanks but I don't accept any friend request because I never agree with anybody 100% of the time and I want to feel free to disagree.
Government is an expression of our personal values and social beliefs.
So you admit know that you were wrong about Orwell and MLK now as well? They were both socialists.
just some bible verses from the word of jesus: "Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come follow me."
"I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
"I tell you the truth, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you."
"But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first."
Jesus destroyed te sellers market in Church...
Mlk was a socialist. He stated: ""something is wrong with capitalism. There must be a better distribution of wealth, and maybe America must move toward a democratic socialism." King called for a total Reconstruction of society from the bottom up. if you actually read and listen to kings speaches other than about civil rights you will find a man who fought and called for socialism, economic justice, and peace.
Orwell was also a self described socialist. Animal Farm is not bashing socialism but Stalinist USSR. And the totalitarian nature that came out of the USSR.
You should read George Orwell's books, they were anti-socialist. You should look at what MLK did, he wasn't a socialist. Jesus was clearly not a socialist, and he never ever talked about the government taxing the rich and making "income equality".
I don't know where you see in my bio where it claims that i am non-violent. I am non-violent up to an extent. When you try all means to get opression off the backs of the people there can only be one last resort. Violence in my opinion must be the last resort to ridding of oppression. Hence Syria, or Libya. Started out as non violent peaceful revolutionary movement until they could take no more and had to resort to violence and guerrilla tactics. Or Cuba for example throughout the whole Batista regime people used non violent tactics to take down the regime until violence was the only way to take it down. Also Hugo Chavez came to power through a democratic non violent process.
Martin Luther King and George Orwell were both socialists... Self described democratic socialists (like myself). Thomas Paine was a intellectual ancestor to many left wing ideologies including socialism. Many argue that Paine was a socialist. Jesus
Hello. No, I don't know any other cycling fans, other than Diavo Miavo, who hasn't been seen here for awhile. I'm afraid, I haven't posted here in so long that I can't remember who is who. I experienced a medical emergency before Christmas, a blood clot which caused me to have a pulmonary embolism. Since I am on blood thinners, I have been warned to stay off the road on a bike, because if I crash, and receive a head injury, I'm toast. I am now running and lifting weights, and my cycling is being done indoors on a trainer, until I can get off blood thinners.

You might want to start a thread on the physical fitness forum concerning cycling. I know that Reverend Hellhound has broached some interest into getting into cycling since he just purchased an old classic bike. He is a jock and does just about everything, Jujitsu, hockey, motorcycle racing. You should be able to find some like minded individuals.

Stay healthy and keep the rubber side down.

It is good to meet you. I always appreciate good conservatives. My debate style is often to poke my opponents to get them to over-react. There is often hysteria from the other side and it is best to remain cool and just counter them and be civil about it. All too often, I fail as I lose my cool. Keep up the good work.
