    Are you sure? Seems to me, the manager at the McDs in La Puente, CA was actually above the minimum wage of $9, he made $10.25. So I think you may be wrong as to this great upward mobility within service jobs.

    When there were an abundance of jobs for low skilled factory workers to earn a livable wage, that comment probably made sense. These days, service positions are the low skilled jobs that are taking to place of supporting workers and their families as the factory jobs are sent overseas.
