Nikki Haley Exits Republican Presidential Race

I think she would have stuck it out if not for the delay in the pending immunity case. But since it seems more likely that Trump wont be facing any serious trials anytime soon, her only path to the nomination was essentially done.

Federal judge denies efforts to force Dean Phillips onto Florida primary ballot

Doesnt really change my opinion of him. Everyone needs outside sludgy money to get elected. And dropping DEI stuff from his website is probably for the best, the genuflection at the alter of DEI has been nothing but an anvil around the necks of Democrats IMO (or at least, it hasnt helped them)

Federal judge denies efforts to force Dean Phillips onto Florida primary ballot

Regardless of what you think of what the DNC is doing regarding their control of primary access, Democrats would do well to pay attention to Dean Phillips. He's a smart and articulate politician who has a platform that appeals to not only Democrats, but independents as well. Think Joe Biden, but...

    [W:2674, 3147] NFL 2023 Discussion Thread

Yeah, moving games is the absolute last resort. I get it too, the logistics of changing venues is probably a nightmare, for the teams and for the fans. But at the end of the day, the NFL cares about butts in seats, hang safety

And it doesnt look like the NFL is going to be changing venues. Going to be a lot of empty seats and dangerous for the fans that do decide to show up, nevermind the safety of the players.

How the GOP could "put" Trump into the presidency even if he loses the election

They could win the majorities, but it would require that they use that majority and all vote against certifying...they're crazy, but not that crazy (I hope). But talk about a constitutional crisis... Im no lawyer, but I dont believe it would go to the House in that event, it would likely be...

Did your ancestors land at Plymouth Rock?

They are! The aforementioned family member that did all the tracing was able to track all the way from Thomas Olney to today.

Did your ancestors land at Plymouth Rock?

Someone in my family was really into genealogy/family history and did all the tracing. Turns out, the paternal side of my family arrived in Boston (or Salem, its unclear) in 1635 having departed from London, England aboard a ship called "The Planter." My surname has even survived all this time...

Gas prices drop more than 60 days in a row

Who will be the next speaker? McCarthy says he's not running

I head something similar. Whilst undergoing cancer treatment to boot. I don’t care for the guy, but leave Scaliese alone for crying out loud

Senator Diane Feinstein has passed away

I honestly dont think she was actually doing the job, she was just being propped up by her staff. For a distinguished career, its a shame that she'll be remembered for her later years on the cognitive decline, all to satisfy the lust for power (I think) coming from her staff.

Good game, ND. I was pleasantly surprised at how they played toe to toe with OSU through the whole game. But of course, as per the usual, ND choked when it mattered (and credit to OSU for a good play at the end there). Oh well, back to the ND fan cave to sulk.

We’ll see how real ND and OSU are next week. I’m hoping for a good game but fear a blowout by the Bucks

Im loving what Im seeing so far, but I know to temper my expectations, particularly since ND has really only played cupcake teams to this point and has a penchant for underwhelming season expectations. But I will say that Hartman and the ND running game is super impressive up to this point. Time...
