Palin to make high-profile visit to Iowa

I do agree that Mccain did have a plan, and while I did not agree with him idealogically on many issues, I still respected him. His mistake was Palin. He chose an unproperly vetted running mate, and it destroyed his chances at being president. Oh, she made a great name for herself, and is now...

Palin to make high-profile visit to Iowa

Now, I cant say what would or would not have happened had there been more people voting, but it is VERY hard to judge what will or wont happen in upcoming general elections when all you have to go by is a primary election, in which only 55,000 votes were cast. All this means is that the ones...

Springfield Pastor Plans To Burn Quran

Re: (New) Pastor Plans To Burn Quran Just because I feel I have to say it. Religious dogma is far and away the worst infection ever to plague the human race. It spreads and grows like a cancer, eating away at people's brains and turning them into mindless soulless creatures who have no thought...

Springfield Pastor Plans To Burn Quran

Re: (New) Pastor Plans To Burn Quran Mcveigh was actually agnostic, but that is not the point. The point is, that one cannot take one crazy person, or even 1000 crazy people, and assume anyone else who shares some common bond with them is as they are. So we can say "so, all agnostics are...

Springfield Pastor Plans To Burn Quran

Re: (New) Pastor Plans To Burn Quran I did not in any way say that all the people speaking out against it are Christians. I was speaking to the Christians on here who are doing so. And a very large percentage of them are. If you are not a Christian, it does not apply to you.

Springfield Pastor Plans To Burn Quran

Re: (New) Pastor Plans To Burn Quran I am with you on that, T. It is a free country. They can do as they wish. But I do have an issue with our tax dollars being spent on FBI security for the good reverend. Hey, he can take care of himself if he wants to pull an inflammatory stunt.

Springfield Pastor Plans To Burn Quran

Re: (New) Pastor Plans To Burn Quran Let us assume for a moment that those who are saying that Islam is not a religion of peace, but instead a religion of hate and war, and from the devil, are correct. You have it 100 percent accurate. It is an evil religion bent on the destruction of all who...

Dont ask Dont tell Policy Ruled Unconstitutional

Gay marriage and letting gays serve in the military are two totally different things, and touch two totally different nerves. I cant say it is 75 percent..I have seen many different numbers, but more people are for letting gays serve openly than not. At least according to polls. Suppose it...

Dont ask Dont tell Policy Ruled Unconstitutional

Oh, there might be the occasional one who does. But for the most part, flamboyant gays are not going to be willing to conform to military regulations, and therefore will not be joining. To serve in the military one must be willing to be a conformist, or at least play a conformist, and most...

Dont ask Dont tell Policy Ruled Unconstitutional

Don't ask don't tell was a defense directive issued by the president. It had nothing to do with the military. Please dont act as though only the military decides wht the military can and cant do. Good god..You'll get Sarge going again.

Dont ask Dont tell Policy Ruled Unconstitutional

But most dont seem to get that those "scary" gays are not going to enlist. Are you kidding me? Combat boots dont come with high heels, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to get a pair of BDUs in pink.

Dont ask Dont tell Policy Ruled Unconstitutional

It will, Orion. Almost guaranteed. While the court may have stirred the hornet's nest, you can be almost certain that in the end, it will end up with the legislature. If nothing else, than to ease the minds of those who are so bothered by the courts getting involved.

Dont ask Dont tell Policy Ruled Unconstitutional

This did just bring up an interesting sideline to the whole DADT debate. Assuming that it is removed, and gays are allowed to openly serve, they would, of course, be subject to the UCMJ just like any other member of the armed service. It bring up all sorts of interesting situations. They...

Dont ask Dont tell Policy Ruled Unconstitutional

DADT is not part of the UCMJ. This makes your argument about jurisdiction irrelevant. If the court was trying to change the UCMJ, I would have to agree with you, but we are not dealing with that.
