    Depends on how you measure it... The US has more "sink or swim" approach to a lot of things. That doesn't mean the system is bad, merely that you have to "WANT" to learn. If you have no interest in your education then I don't see why society should work hard to see that you're educated anyway...

Because I think the federal budget was 1.5 trillion in those days. Which makes 200 billion in debt look like very little considering that...
