    Who is more liberal?

Obama What exactly makes Romney "liberal" in the American sense?

The rise of atheism in America

That action, in itself, requires empirical observation. The probability of such an occurrence is incalculable as it exists beyond the realm of empirical observation.

The rise of atheism in America

I never said that one must believe in transcendent existence, only that the strong atheist has no epistemological justification for being absolutely sure that nothing exists beyond the realm of empirical science.

The rise of atheism in America

No. The probability of the first is incalculable, and that of the second is very low.

The rise of atheism in America

Why is the existence of a deity necessarily ridiculous? I can see what you mean if you are referring to organized religion though. I agree with this, but I never said that I believe in a deity/transcendent power. I only claimed that it is fallacious to rule it out as an absolute impossibility...

The rise of atheism in America

I've also mentioned that said transcendent power would exist beyond the realm of empirical observation, which explicitly demonstrates why the probability of such a power is incalculable in the first place.

Racism in the USA will probably never go away. Agree/Disagree

Since when was the existence of racism across the entire national community dependent on the leaders of the Democratic Party?

Where did I compare the probability of transcendent existence to the existence of unicorns? When did I even mention the probability of the former at all, other than saying that it is fallacious to assume it as impossible? I never compared the probabilities of the two . . .

The rise of atheism in America

I never said the probability of transcendent existence was calculable, but this is still not sufficient reason to assume that it is impossible . . .

Racism in the USA will probably never go away. Agree/Disagree

The prevalence and continuation of racism in modern-day society has absolutely nothing to do with Liberal civil rights activists, nor does it have much to do with playing the race card in general; the question actually had more to do with whether or not racism is a fundamental aspect of human...

The rise of atheism in America

No, because (last time I checked) unicorns wouldn't exist beyond the realm of empirical observation. Well, actually, there still is a possibility that unicorns exist (only by an extremely small chance, however . . .).

The rise of atheism in America

Strong atheism (i.e., the belief that there is no possibility that a God or gods could exist due to lack of empirical evidence) ignores the possibility that any transcendent power exists beyond the reach of empirical observation. To a weak atheist (or agnostic atheist), an unsubstantiated claim...

Racism in the USA will probably never go away. Agree/Disagree

I voted Agree for reasons already enumerated in this thread. Why not? There are no exceptions, period?
