    The OP question is moot. Regardless of whether a second impeachment is 'good' or 'bad,' it's very clear that letting DJT go unpunished for the events of 1/6 is much worse.

    Religion has played too great a role in the nation's history for an outright ban, even if there were support for rolling back that part of the First Amendment. OTOH, it's well worth considering banning the Republican party, just as Germany banned the Nazi party.

    The “standard procedure“ is actually a variation of Option 4. If any president is removed from office by impeachment, (s)he loses all Secret Service protection. DJT could avoid this by pulling a Nixon and resigning.
